Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

also they removed virtually all outdoor elites
Hell yes it did. And that's one of the few areas Interstate '82 actually improved on. Hot Potato and Capture the Salmon were both phenomenal, and it was a natural hotbed of emergent gameplay. Like rigging out all the cars with carbine cutters and having one player try and make it to the teleporter on foot.
mounts only require level 30 now
I had quit a while back but started back up with a friend for the triple leveling, hit 60 in about 2 weeks of casual play
Well dang now I gotta reactivate. I want me a wolf, stat.
Or a horsey. Probably a wolf, I hate Redridge so goddamn much
Fuck you you fucking orcs hiding behind the rock so I have to climb through asshole-infested trails to get anywhere
when I played alliance, I made it a point to always solo hogger on whatever alt I was leveling
of course, I realize that hogger was easier than he used to be, but still it always cracked me up how people would always be looking for help with hogger and I'd just be like, man I'll just solo him a level or two later
it was tough, but fun
I was so jazzed that I got it so soon after hitting 70
then a few weeks later I suddenly realized I was tired of the whole treadmill
But I would like to finally do some of the shit that I never got around to before
Mount being the biggest. The rest is a bonus.
as long as I was running instances with the guild, I was having fun
running back and forth doing stupid quests was not fun and since I was like 9 levels below everyone else, I wasn't doing many instances
Too bad the entire community consists of douchebags and hackers these days
you can't really pretend the game is good and that the community ruins it, because the game is designed in such a way that it inevitably draws the players that it does and results in them behaving as they do
edit: I thought you were talking about WoW but that still works for WC3 for the most part
However, I blame the hacking on Blizzard. They are lazy about banning hackers, and they built the game in such a way that clientside hacks are fairly easy to write.
Mori, I don't really agree here. The problems with the community could easily be fixed if Blizzard would just ban people for inappropriate behaviors. The game would be no different, but the hackers/douchebags would be gone.
No you are dumb
Really, I think it isn't significantly different than any other game, except that with Warcraft 3 I've never been able to find a good small community of well-mannered players outside a few disparate friends. Usually one of those communities sprouts up in the PA forums, but for whatever reason people on penny arcade have never been too interested in the game.
I actually blame this on battle.net being free. If it ever comes to the point where it isn't, I suspect a stronger punishment. For example, they're extremely hard on anyone caught using exploits in WoW.
If they just banned your CD key, it would probably solve the problem right there.
And if they also charged, like, just $1 per month or something for BNet, that would probably cut it down because it would be way harder to pirate/keygen.
It would be easy. I'm saying they don't because they don't have any monetary interest, so it's not really worth policing. Plus it's only custom games and things like that where hacking is an issue, so it's even less so. Ranked ladder matches and tournaments are much less bothered by it.
What? I play exclusively ladder and maphacking is a fucking pain in the ass. How would hacking NOT matter in ranked matches and tournaments?
I have seen people get kicked from clans for hacking, but I am pissed at Blizz for not banning keys, and honestly I am very seriously considering not buying their products any longer because of it. It's a shame because I'm sure SC2 will be really great, but if they don't handle hacking properly, fuck it, I'll play multiplayer games on consoles.
I didn't say it didn't matter, only that Blizzard would probably be more apt to police it if it weren't a free service. And they do ban CD keys for maphacking. All the time, in fact. Yes new ones keep showing up, but that's simply the nature of the beast.
League of Legends: Lamby Cakes | XBox Live: Jon Butters
There was a time like that, but right now it's definitely in the majority. Or they're hiding it so well that even upon watching replays it's not obvious. We also win slightly more than 50% of our games, although the fact that I play 2v2 AT instead of solo might insulate me from the hacking population.
remember when you tried to convince me that pressing a single button for 4 hours was the best way for raiding to work

Oh my god you guys.
I just went to the park to do a little writing, when this old guy came up to my window and asked if I wanted a blowjob. I told him no thanks and he drove off.
I'm not even kidding.
Play games with me | Buy me cute things | DATE ME
Cue four pages of people calling you a fag for saying no to a free blowjob

I'm level 20 now with another friend, but my heart never moved on
that happens to me every time i bike home from university. old men in white pickups that work at the power plant near my house try to proposition me. most of the time they wear gaudy gold chains and are mexican or italian.
The difference in these though is that monsterror drove away though Orik.
Satans..... hints..... I'm a mo bro!
tossrock are you still playing warcraft 3
we should knock some clowns out sometime
(meaning we should play some AT)
And how did the audience take that?
/f add Tossrock
Who cares? It was my goddamn birthday.
As long as you don't mind miserable losses due to my incompetence, I'm all yours dude.
Seriously, I manged to almost lose a 1v1 today because I forgot to buy a new scroll of town-portal after I used up my first one - my game is getting a little better, but I still keep missing critical details like that. I also can't micro for shit - I spend almost all my time just trying to keep my heroes alive, I can't pull off surrounds, or do fancy saves with teleportation staffs and the like.
One rule I've kept is that EVERY HERO must carry a town portal in the upper-left inventory slot at all times. It is far too often that your primary guy gets hexed or stunned or there's just lag or some bullshit and the portal doesn't fire. Then the rest of your army gets buttfucked, and your secondary hero is useless because he's, like, level 1 and has no portal. I also keep two shops in my base, the second one going up at some point in tier 2. This is much more important in 2v2 than in solo, though.
