Did anybody else is think it was weird that in the cartoon Venkman had a long face and Ray had a round face even though in the movie Venkman had a round face and Ray had a long face?
This was the kind of thing I thought about when I was a kid
Also, there was one episode where this totally unstoppable ghost turned out to be a guy who had messed with some locked chest that wasn't meant to be taken, and he was turned into it's guardian.
So to fix things, they put the chest back and the monster turns back into a guy, only now he's dead so he just passes on. Kind of bittersweet.
Also bittersweet was the ghost train engineer who hijacks a train and changes it's course so it's going to crash, just so he can put it right again to stop it from crashing and make up for failing to stop the crash that killed him.
Ghostbusters had a shit ton of one-shot characters with some fucked up personal history, and always self-contained stories. You don't see that kind of writing a lot in today's cartoons.
The Sherlock Holmes episode is one of those that makes you go at the end.

Every episode I watch makes me think that it really is.
Even the episodes that aren't that great are still way better than the episodes of GI Joe or MASK or the other 80s shows I've seen on YouTube and whatever.
I'm sure once I hit the later seasons the decline in quality will be all too obvious, but I'm only on the second disc right now!

off the top of my head, they've stopped Ragnarok, fought Cthulu, the four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and fucking valkyries as well as totally hung out in the underworld to get magical shears back to the 3 fates so demons couldn't control the destiny of mankind.

AND I remember the Fates episode.
My favorite one was when they had to go INSIDE that cool demon containment unit they have.
but the best episode is the one with vampires vs other vampires vs werewolves where the werewolves bite vampires and vice versa and you get WEREWOLVES WITH BAT WINGS

I remember the one where stay puft is a good guy though. You walks in a parade and some manta ray ghost piggy backs on the dude to get out.
Also I remember seeing the cartoon first and being all confused at the movie when slimer wasnt a good guy.
