Hell, I still whip out Tetris DS from time to time.

Shit gets hectic, especially when you come up against one of those people with all of the squiggly letters in their name.

This is pretty much the only reason I haven't gotten Tetris Party yet. When I stop having fun with the DS version, I'll look into it.

The one thing I love about Tetris Party, is its near flawless online setup...I just wish Hudson added more gameplay options for it.

Has anyone else played the Strong Bad games.....they're awesome. :)

Do you have a warped sense of humor?

Yea, being a fan of the characters and cartoon definitely helps. Once you have that, give the games a shot. They are not long, only a few hours to finish, but the humor, and stories keep you coming back. I think I have played each episode a couple times each, they are just so funny to me. :D

I'm still midway through Sam & Max Season 1, but as soon as I finish I'll likely start going through Strongbad. I'm secretly hoping for a disc compilation release, even though I know Nintendo has insisted nothing of the sort will happen.

TellTale games have said in a few interviews that they may compile them depending on sales...and I would take their word over Nintendo's since they would be the ones stamping the discs.

I think it's a good bet considering they have also stated in an interview that the Wii sales have far outsold the PC versions sales.

Northfield resident Richard Garcia is working in a “recession-proof” industry on Division Street. He’s a video game designer for a company he founded 13 years ago called Monster Games.

“People will still pay for entertainment,” Garcia said, adding that profits throughout the video game industry are mostly on the rise, despite the national economic slump.

Garcia credits the steady increase to the growing public acceptance of video game playing as a “valid” form of entertainment. Nintendo’s recent widespread marketing of video games as “something for the whole family” with its latest “Wii” system has accelerated that acceptance, he said.

The success of the industry might be helping Garcia’s business thrive, but he said his location has also been a plus. The Twin Cities has a deep pool of talent, he said, and he can usually have his pick of designers since few other video game engineering firms exist nearby. Competition would be much stiffer on the West Coast, he said. Garcia has also hired a number of Carleton College graduates. Garcia, a Saint Paul native, is a 1988 graduate of Tufts University outside Boston.

Right now, the 20 employees at Monster Games are working on a top-secret video game for Nintendo. They’ve worked on it for two years and are nearly finished. The process is so private the designers must darken their monitors when the bottled-water deliveryman enters the office.

The company won Yahoo’s “Best Racing Game of 2006″ award for its last game for the Nintendo Wii called “Excite Truck.” Wendy’s fast-food restaurants across the nation, including the one in Northfield, promoted the game with Excite Truck kids’ meals. But, Garcia said, he believed few Northfielders ever realized the game’s designers lived right in the city.

Garcia is married and raising two daughters, who aren’t quite as avid video game players as he is, he said.
“I encourage them as much as possible,” he said, laughing.

The only bump Garcia foresees for the company in the near future is securing another contract with a video game developer once the contract with Nintendo ends.

“It is kind of nerve-racking,” he said. “Because, with this kind of work, it’s like having to find a new job every two years.”

Well, this is interesting. Surfer Girl said about year go that Monster Games would supposedly be working on F-Zero Wii. I wouldn't be surprised, TBH.

    Hypnotically inclined.

Um...Mario Tennis and Golf haven't hit the Wii, and neither has Kirby.

Next year they are redoing Mario Tennis for the Wii, and it's only an upgrade of the GC version...which I haven't ever played, so I'm looking forward to it....but no Golf or Kirby.

Also you forgot to mention Star Fox which hasn't hit the Wii yet.

Well, according to Official Nintendo Magazine, NoE is bringing Fatal Frame IV to Europe next February. Although magazine didn't reveal official date, date 6th of February is already popping up in various distributor lists. In other news, Xseed was asked about publishing game in the USA, and here is what they answered:

If you’re talking about Fatal Frame 4 for the Wii then it’s coming to the US, even though it won’t be by us. Can’t tell you who’s bringing it over, but keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement, hopefully sometime soon. - Ken @ XSEED Games

NoA's help desk is also claiming that Disaster is coming out in USA, although date haven't been decided yet. Captain Rainbow's situation? LOL.

I hope so. I have 100 percented both Chibi Robo games. I would gladly pay 30 bucks for a reason to play either again. I am really hoping for a new Wii edition, though right now, I'm really just hoping the franchise stays afloat. I don't know numbers, but the fact that Park Patrol was only sold at Wal-Mart and was marketed as an "Environmentally Friendly" adventure or some such can't mean it did very well.

How was Park Patrol compared to the first? It never came to Europe and the lack of a house to explore worried me somewhat. I loved the first like my own child however.

Park Patrol was awesome, but quite diferent than the first. There's lots more combat, and a much large sense of urgency. You're basically growing flowers as much as you can, and stopping the bad dudes from destroying them. It's really tough to explain. I'd check out reviews. Rest assured, if you loved the first, you'll find enjoyment in the second. I sure did.

There aren't any sites I can go to either, but I'll give you a quick run down.

It's a action adventure game created by a small developer where you play sentient mushrooms in the middle of a war with each other. It looks like a rather quality effort. The graphics are nice and you create weapons by combining items you find lieing around.

I'll have to post something about it when I get home tonight.

I really want it, but I still haven't bought Animal Crossing and I want that too. :(
