Hmm I was forced to play with my friends on live today in game chat , never talk a foreign language on live EVER. Unless you have awesome friends like mine that can talk smack a lot better then me.
Got together with 3 friends last night to play some Horde on two xboxs. Unfortunately one copy had been patched while the other hadn't so my console had to be patch wiped oh well, it was worth it. We made to wave 49 on Normal on River holding up one of the building with only a few wipes, course at wave 50 that all changed. We wiped soooo many times after less then 2 minutes. So we decided to switch down to Casual and beat it in one try :P We felt a bit bad about that but damn that wave is hard.
Had some pretty epic moments, like firing the mortar from inside the house to take out maulers immediately outside, having our sniper and one other hold out for the majority of a wave, seeing the head of the locust using me as a body shield explode and me fall to the ground.
So what I'm trying to say here is, wow, I love this game.

Apparently a gears 2 map pack is being released tonight at midnight pacific time, but will be announced tonight at the MOUTAIN DEW FUELED SPIKE TV VIDEO GAME AWARDS.
The new maps look nice, but for 800msp I'll skip. I've bought a whole bunch of maps for various games now and mostly, unless they are free, only half the people playing ever have them, so they never get used.
Meh, I bought CoD4's 3 maps for 800 points (I have still never played Killhouse). If the matchmaking gets fixed/better in Gears 2, I could see picking up these at some point.
will they follow the "buy it now to play early and just release it free 3 months down the line" model Bungie uses for maps?
They did that for the 2nd map pack for GoW1. 6 months later. I believe the Discovery Channel sponsored the first map pack for GoW1 but it's been a while so I don't remember.
Anyway, first toasters now dizzy hats, I wonder if there's more Easter Eggs :O

Are those only available on Insane mode or something? Was playing through on Hard (or whatever it's called) with my brother last night, and couldn't see the hats anywhere to shoot.
So I assume Matchmaking is still an incredibly slow process. I don't have time to keep checking when I'm reviewing two games and playing others for leisure.
And asses to them if I'm going to pay 800 points for three maps that I won't be able to instantly engage in, because again, the matchmaking sucks hairy balls.
I'm glad they mentioned the A button thing. At least once a match I enter the fray with my hammerburst, when invariably some toolbox charges at me with a shotgun. I knock him down, and go to pick him up just as his buddies are arriving, and without fail i roll over him. Come on. That is crowd control waiting to happen. Oh well, still my favorite game.

I don't know if you're talking in generalities, but more often than not I have no problems with matchmaking - but I only really play territories in pick up groups. I can't say for the rest of the match types. King of the Hill and stuff is fun, give it a shot if you haven't.
OK can somebody please answer this because the internet is being a cock:
I have two controllers, 1 360, and 1 copy of GoW2. Is it possible to play splitscreen with a friend? I have tried setting up a second gamertag, but it just lets me sign in to one at a time.
Just tried it, and it doesn't seem to work. I sign in, and then my friend presses the button, and it just sits there and flashes and never does anything.

The controller flashes?
Pair the controller with the xbox. Press the little button on the top of the controller(near the battery pack) and then the button on the xbox to sync them both.
My roommate was playing and all I had to do was turn on my controller and it popped it into splitscreen right in the middle of his game.
