Nowhere near as good, but they occasionally have some gems.

I do know that the chick, Carla Kihlstedt, is a wicked talented violinist. Both of her side projects, Tin Hat Trio and Two Foot Yard, churn out consistently quality material

t Fallout: Thanks, it's a sweet album after all. Any new metal, or other music, I should catch up on?
Somebody mentioned SGM, they are awesome. Somebody mentioned Gogol Bordello, they are awesome. Somebody mentioned BTBAM, they are boring. Finally, somebody mentioned the side projects of SGM, they are pretty damn sweet. Though to get it straight, if it wasn't already, Faun Fables is the project of Nil's (the vocalist/guitarist of SGM) now wife. He's also in the band, as can be witnessed by that great song. I certainly do enjoy the group a lot. Saw them live, with some good opening acts, and enjoyed them almost as much as I do SGM live (who are the best live). Tin Hat Trio and 2 Foot Yard are also both good; really enjoyed the last 2 Foot Yard album. The other guitarist/percussionist from SGM also had his own little solo cd out for sale last summer but I haven't heard it. As for Idiot Flesh and Charming Hostess, I have yet to get into them. How many more side projects do they have?
To be on topic, the alternate tunings (as somebody pointed out with tabs) are indeed odd. I've been wondering if they just remember the fingerings or if they actually work out all the chords music theory-wise when they are composing/playing. Mighty great sound they have though if you ask me.
As for right now, I'm listening to The Protomen. There has been a thread for them, but they can't get enough mention. I simply cannot wait for the new album.
tell me man
IS THERE A MAN AMONG YOU HERE
IS THERE NO ONE WHO WILL STAND UP
AND TRY TO FIGHT
TELL ME MAN
IS THERE NOT ONE IN ALL YOUR RANKS
IS THERE NO ONE WHO VALUES COURAGE OVER LIFE
