I plan on getting Pokemon Platinum and Play on Wii: Mario Power Tennis.
Not to mention Madworld and HoD: Overkill.
Not a bad first quarter...and I'm sure this is missing some stuff of Nintendos...considering I thought Wii Sports Resort was due early on also with the Wii Motion +.
Damnit, why won't SEGA bring Culdcept DS over here?
Also, I so very want the New Play Control! Jungle Beat and Mario Tennis.

I wonder when The Conduit is due...I'm sure they don't want to release it around the other two so that their big Wii games don't overshadow one another.
So I'm sending back Mushroom Men for the Wii to Gamefly. I played it about 30 minutes or so. It seemed good, but every time I thought about playing the game I kept thinking that I've played the game before and knew what was going to be happening. Not enough soul for me, I suppose.
That list looks pretty good.
Djiem, why would you want Culdcept DS? The 360 version cheats SO MUCH that I can't imagine having a portable version of rage that I can bring with me.

Wii Sports Resort could be early Q2 (so March/April-ish?), but who knows. I also noticed a lack of Conduit, though the game doesn't appeal to me; perhaps being retooled with Motion+? Who knows.
The only stuff that's almost definite for me are HOTD Overkill and the retooled Mario Power Tennis on Wii; I'll wait to see how Little King Story turns out, and while I'm optimistic for Major Minor's Majestic March (the Parappa team, people!) I haven't heard anything about it lately.
On DS, Henry Hatsworth and Fire Emblem, fuckers! Also, Retro Game Challenge looks fucking awesome and is right around the corner.
Please remember that those lists never contain all releases for the quarter. For example, Nintendo itself has multiple times announced 1st / 2nd party game on later date. Some examples from last two years; Disaster: Day of Crisis, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn, Mario Kart Wii.

Come on, except for the enraging cheating AI, the game itself is pure awesome and a portable version would be interesting for me. I've said it many times before, but I spend large chunks of time in hospital, either in the waiting room, or bed-ridden, and my DS has preserved my morale and sanity a lot of times. I love games like Picross or Civilization because they either have a lot of puzzles (in the case of Picross) or random seeds that make every game different (Civ). Culdcept makes time fly and is one of those unlimited-replay-value games that's also more than a shallow mini-game.
I really don't get what's the holdup with Time Crisis.
Fuck you've got a balance board, you've got a wii remote, you're ready to go.
My theory is that they don't want to sell Time Crisis on Wii because they can't get away with selling their expensive ass lightguns on a system where every controller has a lightgun built in.
Time Crisis 4 fucking sucked and bombed on PS3, so I don't see what they have to lose.
Besides, they can release an expensive Guncon shell for the Wii in the shape of the arcade guns and charge extra for that.
Hell, if they wanna go the full way, they can give it actual blockback like the arcade guns. I'd pay for that.

I wouldn't know how awesome the game is because I couldn't ever beat the first level on the 360 version. Tried about 4 times before I wanted to drop kick my TV.
What they need to make is an MMO for you to play on the DS. Grinding for loots. :P

I hope it's soon, because I would love some casual Wii Sports goodness that I can have the family over to play....especially with sword fighting. :^:
Little King's Story looks pretty good, but we'll see.
Crap, I forgot about Henry Hatsworth...I am so getting that. Don't worry EA, I'll help support your new and wonderful IPs.

It's not that hard. Granted, it is not extremely easy to win your first fight (though it never gave me trouble), but once you've won a few, you start to build a deck, and then strategy really starts to come in. Also, even when you lose, you do get a few new cards (good thing too, losing a hour-long match and getting nothing in the end would be infuriating). If you win, you gain more cards, and usually rarer ones. Also, it unlocks new stages and opponents.

Yeah, one glaring omission from that list was NMHDS... Is that still due in January?

Yea, as far as I know, that won't be out until early 2010.
I was hoping to get some info on Punch Out and S&P2 also...but I'm sure they'll be summer/fall releases.

Culdcept is a lot of fun, I really want the DS version. I don't know if the AI cheats, but some cards are so broken that I don't think it matters much. I can beat just about anything with the card that forces them to stop in that space, properly buffed and all.
I also just like to collect the cards and see what new crazy stuff you get. Generally I grind the first level for this.

One thing I have learned is you can never 100% rely on Nintendo's upcoming list, since they never put all of their titles on the lists, as well as leaving stuff out of others..such as they forgot to add Capcom in altogether.
Vindication! Since I'm a massive RB whore and want everyone (including Wii owners rightfully gunshy over the shoddy RB1 port) to check it out, IGN's glowing review of RB2.
The Wii version of Rock Band 2 is feature identical to the PS3 and 360 versions. World Tour mode is here for both local and online play. The full character editor is here (except for the tattoo creator, but only sailors and ex-cons have tattoos anyway). Your band is now rendered in real-time during a performance, rather than appearing in generic video. And the online music store will go live "very shortly" after the game's release, according to Harmonix.

Rock Band 2 for Wii fixes every problem the original game had on the system and even adds pleasant new features. Aside from a little less detail in the visuals, this is identical to what Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 players have been playing since September. It's a more user-friendly experience, simultaneously more challenging for the hardcore and more accessible for casuals. The 80+ tracks on disc are a fantastic offering spanning an enormous variety of genres and eras (if you get the standalone game, that's about 60 cents a song). The music store should be up just after launch and you'll be able to stream DLC from your SD card. Online play in World Tour works flawlessly and Battle of the Bands is an inventive way to engage players in the Rock Band community. Wii owners don't have to have Rock Band-envy any more -- this is the real deal, and is a must buy for anyone down with music games.

But do they work in reverse, as in, will WT work with RB instruments? I thought RB only had 4 drums and WT had 5.

They do, actually—GHWT shrinks down the five lanes into four. It has some kind of auto-generating setup to redistribute the notes from the missing pad. I think it's the Orange crash cymbal that's missing, so all those notes go to the Green, unless there's already a Green note, in which case it goes to Blue. (Something like that.) I haven't played with it myself but the videos I've seen make it look very playable.
The only songs that seem like they'd be a pain in the ass are songs like Everlong, which have that 16th-note hi-hat pattern. In GHWT, the hi-hat is on the Yellow cymbal, and the snare is on the Red; but in Rock Band, the hi-hat is Red and the snare is Yellow.

That's surprising, I thought they hated each other and weren't cooperating in this fashion. Unless that was Harmonix hating Activision and not the other way around.

The whole noncompatibility between guitars for RB1 and GH3 soured a lot of people, so I guess in the interest of selling more copies of their own games, they decided to kiss and make up. Though in the case of drums, the general verdict seems to be that using each game's native drum set is vastly superior.
And I also really, really, really want the Layton sequels to show up, but there's already a good chunk of DS games I'm slated for in the next few months, so I'm good for a while. :)s
While on the topic of guitar compatibility, does that mean that GHIII guitars are compatible with Rock Band 2 Wii? I wasn't sure if the GHWT stuck with the wiimote plugin for the instruments.

WT drops one of the cymbals and adjusts the charts accordingly if you use the RB drums, but I have not heard anything definite about the Wii RB1/2 instruments working for WT. We do know that WT Wii instruments will work in RB2.
It is very good to hear that it is an excellent port of the game in its practical entirety, though I'm still waiting to see how the store is set up and what is and isn't included for the Wii before I make the plunge for either game set.
I still think I'll go for WT first. I love music creation, whether MIDI or not (sometimes especially MIDI!) and I recognize more music on their list, and I never have to worry about having too few drum pads for any future games.
Hahahah - if you look at the Amazon.co.uk page for Layton right now, they're selling it for £75! That's over $115 - $150 before our economy went in the shitter!
Understandable, though, as it's had a massive TV push in the UK for christmas - so much so that it's th first game my mum's actually requested that isn't Zelda. And she loves Zelda.

Not a bad first quarter...and I'm sure this is missing some stuff of Nintendos...considering I thought Wii Sports Resort was due early on also with the Wii Motion +.

XBL/PSN/Steam: APZonerunner

I thought it was well over a year away.
Yea, as far as I know, that won't be out until early 2010.
I was hoping to get some info on Punch Out and S&P2 also...but I'm sure they'll be summer/fall releases.

I also just like to collect the cards and see what new crazy stuff you get. Generally I grind the first level for this.
January 2010.
D'OH!
Man, I've been thinking next month for a while now. I thought that seemed wrong...

Capcom is not happy about being left out...so a tantrum has ensued.

And it works with all of the GHWT instruments.
The DS version has been rebalanced though.
But do they work in reverse, as in, will WT work with RB instruments? I thought RB only had 4 drums and WT had 5.
The first game was fantastic, and the third one's already out in Japan, or is coming out soon. Didn't this game sell well? What's happening?
It sure had a decent marketing push and I've even heard word of mouth.

Like, people are buying it for RRP to resell on eBay for profit. It is flying off shelves.
I hope we get the sequel soon, I've been waiting for it since I finished the first one.
Understandable, though, as it's had a massive TV push in the UK for christmas - so much so that it's th first game my mum's actually requested that isn't Zelda. And she loves Zelda.

So once again we see that a game will actually sell really well when advertised... in Europe. First Zack & Wiki, now the good Professor.
Huh. Maybe we should try that whole "advertising good games" thing over here?
I have the reel controller in a box somewhere.
