    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_Hellraisers_(CSI_Episode)

    It's not even fanfiction.

CSI: Miami is essentially CSI fanfiction.

CSI: Miami is not even filmed in Miami, it's filmed in LA

    which looks nothing like Miami
    I didn't know this, and that's hilarious.

they're all like "just put a yellow filter on it, no one will know, Miami is super yellow after all"

    o_O

    I thought Cubans lived there.

    but... Cubans are not yellow

we are more brownish than anything

    no, that is silly

i was trained for stage combat but by a dude with like ten black belts who also knew real sword combat with a variety of sword types, as well as staves and spears

so i am trained in rapier and broadsword and unarmed combat

i have some kind of belt in kenpo, i forget, it's been a while, and that is a pretty gay karate type anyway

but it taught me to kick and punch correctly, which are the most important things

I only have rapier and unarmed stage combat training. Never got certified, but it was fun.

Oh, yeah, and the whole Marine Corps training thing, but that doesn't help on stage as much.

Rapier sword combat, while awesome, always seemed wasteful to me, mainly because a rapier could only be used as a thrust weapon

I much prefer western weapons that can slash, like Sabers or Basket-Hilt swords.

    um, no?

or do you mean it's like you never forget how to do it, in which case yes

i can still extract myself from a rear choke hold and i can still do a forward roll with a sword in my hand

well, yeah, you know, poking a sharp end into someone's liver is pretty ineffective.

It's also much slower and easier to block than big overhand swings.
