Yeeeah, but ya see the thing is, that happened over 400 years ago. I think at this stage Britain has squatters rights or some shit up. What does it even matter anymore? 400 year old grudges that are based on religion are fucking stupid, and people should cut that shit out before more people needlessly lose their lives. What would having the North back really do for us, anyway? If people had of cut the whole "The North's ours because we said so and the Brits were mean a few centuries ago" 80 years ago the Troubles could have been avoided.

- And the effects of those troubles rippled out through Irish and British history. Just up and letting it go isn't likely going to happen.

- You're right, but the thing is that initial grudge has led to more violence, and hence new grudges, so while it all may have been started by the old grude, the new grudges ("You bastards killed my father/brother/sister etc") are what keeps it going. Thsoe grudges aren't exactly easy to forget.

- It's not so much "having it back" as restitution for having it taken away in the first place.
