I just prefer to save them for things that directly impact the bottom line, rather than raptors. *shrugs*

No, darian. You should be using your high power tactics cards to make a 75% chance a sure thing! Any human would obviously understand that.

Turn 17: Lee "Apollo" Adama (Darian)

    Movement Step: Remain in Command.
Action Step: Play Leadership 1 to give William Adama (Rend) Executive Orders.

Executive Orders: Move to Weapons Control and play Tactics 2 to Launch a Scout.

    Scouting: 1 < 3, A Raptor is Destroyed.

Once again, a scouting Raptor is sent out, and once again, it does not return.

    Crisis Step: Cylon Screenings

Lee "Apollo" Adama (Darian) must choose:
    A) Skill Check [9] Politics + Leadership
    Pass: No Effect.
Fail: -1 Morale, and Lee "Apollo" Adama (Darian) looks at 1 random Loyalty Card belonging to President Tom Zarek (DevoutlyApathetic) or Admiral William Adama (Rend).
    OR
    B) Each player discards 2 Skill Cards.

    After Crisis: Activate Raiders

Is that really supposed to be that way? Are you sure the Adama's didn't get mixed?

I think you're right. Looking at my copy of the card, it's current player chooses, meaning it's my boy. My son.

You're right; my spreadsheet for that card shows:

    Cylon Screenings
    9 Politics, Leadership
    Current Player Chooses
    Pass No Effect
Fail -1 morale and the current player looks at 1 random Loyalty Card belonging to the President or Admiral
    OR
Each player discards 2 skill cards
    (activate raiders)

Hmm... that makes it more interesting. I'd still be inclined to go with option B, though. We've got a lot of cards; intentionally failing and taking the morale hit just to look at a loyalty card when we're about to hit sleeper phase anyway...
Though we could make sure the Admiral isn't a toaster, and we've got a while before his turn comes back up, so plenty of time to get him into the brig.

Decisions decisions. What say you all?

You can look at my loyalty card all you want, but the sleeper phase is coming up. I can tell you I'm not a cylon, and I'd be right, but as a human playing for the humans, we'd be wasting a morale, seeing as it is just as likely I will be later as it is that I am now.

Does that make sense? I assert we're too late in the first phase to check initial loyalties.

Yea, if we weren't looking the sleeper phase in the face I'd be more inclined to fail the check intentionally. Between that and us spending morale willy-nilly I don't think we should throw it.

However I think odds are we could probably pass the check with less than 10 cards played in total. I believe I have some to help out with but I'd have to go digging through PMs to be certain how much.

Even if we don't want to look at any loyalty cards, it might be cheaper for us to go with option A anyway. Two cards each comes to 10 cards; with the average card worth 2.1, we can get a pass on this with only about 6 average cards, or fewer better-than-average. But that would mean spending good cards, as opposed to throwing away trash.

I'm sleepy; I'll post a decision in the morning, after the others have a chance to chime in with recommendations if they so choose.

edit: Sign of sleepiness: I took so long to write that that DA already made my point better.

While I might be being a bit optimistic, I suspect that we don't have any toasters lurking about quite yet anyways.

If we want to go for it, I can help a good deal. If we don't, I stocked up on cards in my last turn so it wouldn't hurt me terribly to discard regardless.

Agreed. Also, I can help a lot, but I don't want to help more than necessary, for obvious reasons. Passing this with 25 is just going to be a waste.

[EDIT] Also, cylon disruptors would screw the crap out of us with this, since we need the fuel and can't afford much in the way of morale loss.
