    Raiders in Port-Quarter (5 o'clock) move to Aft (3 o'clock)

    Jump Preparation reaches maximum; The fleet finally jumps away from its Cylon pursuers for the time being.


    Destination Choice: Icy Moon – Distance +1 (Total: 8 Distance)
    Lose 1 Fuel. The Admiral may risk 1 Raptor to roll a die. If 3 or higher, gain 1 Food. Otherwise, destroy 1 Raptor.

    The Admiral decides to make the risk to resupply.
    Raptor Risk: 1 < 3, Raptor Destroyed.

    ... but the scouting ends in failure.

    The fleet has reached 8 distance. If they can make a final jump without bringing any resources to 0, they will reach Kobol and earn victory.


    Rend discards a Leadership 1 to bring his hand size to 10.

    Even after jumping away from the Cylons, Galactica remains in danger - the ship has been trapped with an impressive bomb that figures to cripple Galactica in one final stroke. Through the efforts of all the remaining crew, the bomb is isolated and disposed off before it can go off, saving Galactica from further damage and keeping humanity's hopes alive.

    Never mind; the rules specify that only abilities that specifically target the card are prohibited (so Boomer, Starbuck, Helo). Bill and Galen can use theirs, since they trigger off the skill check rather than the Crisis itself. You win this round, Admiral Adama. Well done.

    It says on pages 19 and 30 of the rulebook (with slightly different wording) that "Super Crisis Cards are immune to character abilities that specifically affect Crisis Cards." (p. 30)

    For Boomer, she could not use her one-time ability on a Super Crisis, since it operates on Crisis Cards. For Chief and William Adama, their abilities work on Skill Checks, which can come from board locations, Crisis Cards, or Super Crisis Cards. I was on the fence about it, really, but I decided on the liberal interpretation. I couldn't really find any evidence against my interpretation, though you do make a good point about the intent of the rule.

    EDIT: Well, problem solved! (?)

    I'd argue that he can, because his ability says "skill check" instead of crises draw, whereas Boomer's says "Skill check on a crises card" Chief should be allowed to use his ability as well.

    Unfortunately, due to Adama having ten frakking cards hoarded away I anticipated us "failing" that one.

    A nice Piloting/Engineering check would come in handy right about now.
