No, not to me. But I think that people THINK that they like something, when they really don't even like it. They just prefer to like it, and get outraged when people force them to confront themselves.
Basically, most people's actual identity is a void around which they oscillate suppositions and fantasies. They should confront that and become actual people.

i really like the first three tracks on the Fleet Foxes album but I have hated everything about Animal Collective that I've heard so far
Crystal Castles is fun because their tracks often make use of arcade sounds in such a fashion that I don't even realize they're there until a minute in. they're not on the same level as the other stuff on there though.
i don't know if you're into metal or prog or noise, but Boris is a fantastic sludge/noise metal band, and Baroness is like a less aggressive Mastodon in terms of proggy metal.

EM, trust me, you don't want to be like NMH -- Jeff Magnum, to be precise. I once had a conversation with a friend of close friend of his. Apparently Jeff records all this music and then has breakdowns about how sad the world is.
You know it is possible to enjoy music without analyzing how many beats per minute it has
