I've really enjoyed the dark turn that Wonder Woman has taken. Other than the 2 issue mini-arc about the movie thing (which was horrible), I would say that the entire Gail Simone run has been pretty tops. I'm enjoying this Rise of the Olympian arc. And I think my favorite arc so far has been the one where she was battling that demon dude and fighting to get her soul back.

    Re: this week's issue --
What's up with Zeus ripping the dude's heart out. Zeus seems to be a bit crazy right now.
I'm really hoping this ends with the Amazons and whatever their male counterparts are called basically sick of the Olympians' shit and denying them. Because really, they'd be infinitely better off without them.

Well, Zeus has always been batshit crazy in DC.
What he was doing there was taking the heart of creator-god in a lesser pantheon (lesser here reflecting, I guess, the size of their empires or belief?) to give to his male, Manazon champion. He'd asked politely for him to just give the strength willingly, but in the end was 'forced' to take it, from his perspective.

Remember, this is the same Zeus that tried to rape Wonder Woman, more than once.

I don't know if it was my official motw, but I was surprised and amused that Wolfsbane's
    old boyfriend
showed up in X-Force, which I picked up on a whim.

I sat there for a second reading it and then thought, "Did they just reference the Asgardian Wars? Wow."

I'm curious how they're going to write public reaction to Clint's live-TV tirade in next month's New Avengers. I think I expected more explosions and loud noises from issue 50.

Anti-MOTW: JSA & the re-appearance of Mary Marvel in the FC "Desaad-fetish" gear. What the hell? Last we saw in FC, Mary swore to never say the word again, and it was assumed that Desaad was purged from her, right? So who in the blue hell decided it would be a great idea to re-use that costume- which only made sense within the FC story?

This especially makes no sense seeing the preview of next month's cover with her in the black suit... Who the hell is in charge of this shit?
It was pretty obvious that there was no way in Hells she wouldn't say the word again, if only because she is the best Marvel. I agree on the costume.

Doesn't this current JSA story take place before FC? Or does the story specifically say it takes place after?

    She says this:
“I tried not to change after we beat Darkseid, but…I kept hearing it scream in my head. The wisdom, strength, stamina, power, courage and speed of the Black Marvels.”

I guess sales just weren't high enough. I hate that it got canceled just as I was really starting to read it on a monthly basis.

I love the fourth wall breaking stuff at the end of the issue.

hey guys who have read blue beetle already
    did anyone die

There are complete spoilers (including a tie-in with a certain related series) up on scans_daily.

    Short answer:
yes. The girl everyone's been predicting would die, did in fact die.
There is absolutely no reason hey had to tie-in the Black Beetle storyline in Booster Gold to the last issue. They could have just left it as a far off mystery from a distant future. I've always wanted Jaime to be free of all that superhero drama, of getting your friends & family killed and generally being crushed underneath the heel of "reality."

i have a theory about that one Thunderbolt from last month's cover that we still don't know about yet.

    Deadpool.

this week was pretty great. Thunderbolts, Green Lantern, Herc, USM, the end of New Avengers and Nova were all fantastic

Random idea: If Headsman is the current Green Goblin and will later take off that disguise, might it be possible that Deadpool takes on the Green Goblin costume to keep the ruse going?

It'd fill out the Thunderbolts roster and would fit #128's cover better.

They're not dead. They just lost their home, which to me is a much scarier thought. They'll be looking for a new breeding ground. Maybe this very forum. They could be watching us right now, composing a snarky response.

I don't seem to really have a MotW, though the "final victory" in Reign in Hell was pretty neat, and makes me wonder why I never made it the MotW when the battle between Neron and Satanus/Lady Blaze had a victor in #6.

Though I really love that Aja's page in NA was the only one where Danny was wearing his green long-sleeve shirt costume.

Its my fault, guys, sorry. I stopped reading She-Hulk shortly after Peter David took over because it went from uniquely light and funny to generic and boring as shit.

You know you didn't have to read S_D right? I mean, I have yet to have anyone come to my house and put a gun to my head.

Is that what happened Sars? Did they prop your eyes open like in a Clockwork Orange and make you look at gay porn?

It would've happened sometime soon anyway, so I'm really happy that Matt Sturges got to do it and it worked pretty well. After this issue, the only comic Blue Beetle is going to appear in is Teen Titans and there's no way in hell I want Sean McKeever to even touch Blue Beetle, his enemies or his family.

So yeah, Blue Beetle #36 was my moment of the week too. I rate the entire run up there with Batgirl and Grant Morrison's JLA run.

It's not like those people are just going to vanish into the ether though. They're going to form another community to share their opinions on comics, or migrate to one of the many available forums out there. And now, they're not even going to be providing the one valuable service they had to offer.

Haven't you watched Vampire movies? If you kill the lead vampire all the rest will die. Which means that instead of making another community, they will instead all become lumberjacks.
