Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
[first time poster, longtime...webcomic..thing-watcher] SWEET SPHERE OF DARKNESS!
Here is an original comedic ode to one of my favorite things in the world besides checking Penny Arcade at work and trawling the archives desperately in search of respite. If i have fucked up in any critical ways regarding posting on these forums, I beg your mercy, good sirs!
COMEDIC ODE TO A SWEET BUT TINY BALL OF (WEED) RESIN
oh tiny, sweet ball of
sticky, scorched leavings from
the leaves of many trees:
My love for you is deep
like the deepest den
of abyssal anglerfish,
lewdly bobbing the glowing promise
of easy answers...
Though soft,
and supple
as a clay,
your hardness yet lies
solidly before the dream
of
a
tiny,
sweet
sphere,
trapped
within the
cruel twist of glasses and woods,
demanding a war of tooth and nail,
clothespin and small pointy thing!
A plumbing of graveyards
to flush out the nutrients!
A feast of darkness
that lingers long upon
my fingers...
It doesn't seem "comedic" as much as it's simply not serious. That's fine- it is pretty good, and that's helped by the fact that by not being serious, the expectations aren't too high.
Hah! Thanks for the comments, especially on a somewhat oddball first post which this probably is. It seemed chuckleworthy to me, but probably more so because I imagined this being read aloud in my head by some kind of foppish mix of the voice of stewie from family guy doing his awful poetry to the squiggly lines in his eye, and an overly revved up elizabethan actor. So there is that.

Bravo? I dunno. Not much to say about it.
