Anime movie: Patlabor, and Patlabor 2. The first is an awesome action flick with big fuck-off mechs doing battle, and the second is more of a psychological thriller (as far as that is possible in a movie exploring the mind and environment of the protagonist of the first film). The cinematography of the second film is just stunning, by the way.
For kids movies that rock the house, after The Goonies and Short Circuit, have at Flight of the Navigator.
The Cat Returns is a pretty good animated film that I always reccomend to people with Netflix. I've heard of maybe one person who didn't like it, ever.
I think I watched most of the things worth watching on instant, short of a few tv series. It takes me a bit to convince myself to sit down for 1000 hours of one show.
Did The Office and Jericho on it. (May still watch Heroes <.<)
Stalker
Atomic Cafe
A Boy and his Dog
Thriller: They Call her One Eye
Lady Snowblood
Hardboiled
Lone Wolf and Cub series
Sword of Doom
Videodrome
Dead Ringers
Intacto
Dead Alive
Where Eagles Dare
Django
I guess a lot of those are not that obscure but whatever.
I second the Doctor Who thing. I didn't like the first guy but David Tenant's pretty amazing.
Even if you skip most of it, make sure you watch the episode 'BLINK.' It's in season 3, and it's one of the best episodes of television EVER.
If you can stand subtitles, rent District B13. The movie the writing/directing team for Taken made before they made Taken. It's really, really good. So good that the show CHUCK felt it necessary to rip off the most memorable action sequence for the first episode. Don't you dare listen to it with English dubs. Seriously.
Man, I just watched The Station Agent and it sucked. Most of the movies Netflix reccomends me suck.
There is a documentary on iTunes I want to watch. It is called Original Child Bomb. Check that out. It is only 1.99 and is on the Sundance Channel under DocDays.

Revolver is honestly not worth watching. It's a fucking mess of a movie.

I haven't seen it yet. Is it really bad? I don't think I could sit through another bad movie.
I like Jason Statham and I like Guy Ritchie. And this movie has both. I'm conflicted.

Good lord I love this movie. Klaus Kinski shot a man's finger off on set.
And threatened to murder someone, at gunpoint, who wanted out of the project before they were finished shooting.
my older bro lent me The Thing moooonnnttthhhsss ago and I still haven't watched it

I saw this fairly recently for the first time. I was pretty shocked by how repulsive and gross the dated special effects still manage to be.
I will definitely add some of them

that is a pretty interesting movie. the idea wasn't quite as well executed as i'd hoped, but so much of it is so blackly hilarious.

Waking Life is pretty good, too.
David Lynch is always fun.
Revolver? I think that's next on my list.
Kieslowski? He's pretty alright.

It's pretty fucking sweet.
E: Preemptive fuck you to anyone that's already put that out there.

No emotion. Not enough midget sex. Not enough emotional midget sex.
he gutted that movie like a fish and then set it on fire

Totally worth it.
EDIT: I know Jamie Kennedy is involved but give it a chance! For starters most of his time onscreen is spent being heckled.
There was plenty of emotion. Maybe you're not a fan of subtext? o_O
