Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I thought that the obesity problem in the UK wasn't about chocolate so much as it was about everything on the entire island being fried in a greasy batter.
You can't objectively prove that not teaching your daughter how to read is bad, it's all a social convention
Spoiler:
I am _J_
Haha, I find it strange that it's possible for anyone to say anything other than "This shit is crazy, and people shouldn't be parents" to the contents of that OP.
meh. Having actually lived in Scotland for eight years, you'd be surprised how difficult it is to actually find deep-fried mars bars. I thin there's a couple of chippies in the really touristy bit that do them, but that's about it.
Scottish cuisine is much more about porridge and haggis and oatcakes then anything else. And lots of good fish and beef.
Cancer is when cells stop letting the body mooch off their hard work - clearly a community of like-minded cells should isolate themselves and do the best job each can do, even if the rest of the body collapses!
"I believe in evidence. I believe in observation, measurement, and reasoning, confirmed by independent observers. I'll believe anything, no matter how wild and ridiculous, if there is evidence for it."
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
Unexpected. I was actually just about to collect him for the weekend. He had apparently been outside most of the day and at some point attempted to cross the road - and well, it didn't go well. My ex- thinks he probably died in a few seconds so he didn't really suffer. He's now buried out the front of her apartment.
It's kind of hard to react to, I mean because it's a sort of expected outcome considering how often people get hit by cars. Of course as if to drive the point home I saw a 4WD run into the back side of a taxi when I was driving home from this activity.

The weird thing is I don't feel super-distraught by it. It's something which just kind of doesn't bear thinking about. I guess I'm just happy that he died doing what he loved (being naughty), and had the chance to have a life at all (he was an abandoned kitten, so he would've been put down without a home).

Woohoo, we won one of the competitions in the school football marathon. We played from 10pm till 8am the next morning and it was amazing. One of the best nights ever.
edit: I've also not slept in over 27 hours yet I don't feel at all tired. I should but worried, but w/e.

I am sorry. At the moment I shan't be _J_ and shall be sad about your kitty.

Especially when America is Scotland.
One day, yes.
Then your chad experience will be forever incomplete.

Oh gosh, a Mars Bar? Did we send them a county fair or something?
Using my book learnin' for truth, pedantry, and modest amounts of entertainment.
Obs isn't a lunatic. He's just thick.
Far less entertaining.

I beg to differ, whenever I come into [chat] there's always a new Obs quote to entertain me.
Man...

That sucks hardcore, ELM. I'm sorry.
"Those people who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do."
I am sorry.
It's the main character from Guster's One Man Wrecking Machine music video.
I got more joy than I should have from calling Obs a stupid retard. I think having Obs around is actually bad for me.
there is no emoticon to express my sympathy
but have a couple anyway
D:
Everything that brings a man joy in life is usually equally bad for him.
D:
If you need anything, let us know, okay? Even if it's just an ear to vent to about the stresses and sorrows of all this.
