Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

What are you talking about the snowfall is different each time.
Nothing wrong with a little variety.
Also, this is simply another parody of nerd culture, similar to the whole Witchalock thing. The difference being, the Witchalock strips tend to be very heavy handed, whereas the CTS is all about minimalism. Its a different form of expression, and I appreciate it.

People love to bitch. They'll only be happy when Gabe & Tycho make comic strips that require no previous knowledge, where you don't need to follow any gaming news, when they never cover the same topic twice, when they never do continuity again, when they never do another CTS strip, and when they never do material outside video games again.
also every strip needs to have homoerotic undertones

I'd just like to defend myself a bit. I'm not bitching that they're doing more CTS. I don't mind continuity at all (the witchalok arch was one of my favorites). I don't mind needing to know a little back-story to get the comic. And I even said that I can appreciate the artistic quality of the CTS series (and I'm sure Gabe thoroughly enjoys stretching a bit of artistic muscle for them) . I'm just saying that CTS just isn't my cup of metaphorical tea.

Me: I've never been a fan of the CTS.
Lucas: I don't understand people complaining about the CTS.
Coldbrand: People love to bitch.
Me: I'm not bitching.

Uh
was there ever some confusion as to this?
I think we all knew they took place in the past
Google+
(And maybe someone was confused and they were just pretending that they weren't. Its a crazy world out there.)
Starting? Like, since...since when? How far back can we go and still use "starting"? Like could I say that Microsoft is starting to look like it seriously wants to be part of the console market?
What? No, man, that's only one possibility. My counter-cliche is where the student gains skill over the years and eventually saves or avenges his master. Or marries his daughter after helping him to finish off his decades-long battle with his arch-enemy, like in Banderas' first Zorro movie.
Well OK but that last one is just boilerplate for life in general. Let's be fair.
Then years later when the master has lived in solitude and guilt he'll take a 'trouble child' and mold him into the level headed warrior.
Watch any of the many live-action wandering Samurai team shows made in Japan in the late 70s/early 80s and you will understand where the chops are coming from.
Edit: Apparently most of these come from the 60s and 70s.
Yeah, see, this is what I mean. There are so many possible cliches, don't limit yourself to just one!
I like the whole Jin thing from samurai champloo
everyone thinks he betrays his master, but it turns out his master was ordered to kill jin in his sleep and jin winds up killing him
You are forgetting that people like to read shit that is interesting and cool.
Hermits are usually only cool when they have a long and mysterious past to hide from.
