Roomwhores: 2009 Edition

So Rachel and I went to IKEA the other day and bought us a spankin' new entertainment center

If you may recall, this is what our place used to look like:

old_01.jpg

old_02.jpg

Then Rachel came here, and a few months later we bought some new shelves and turned it into:

room_01.jpg

room_02.jpg

room_03.jpg

room_04.jpg

But finally I got fed up of that fucking enormous eyesore of a desk. So we moved the computer into the kitchen, took apart the desk, moved the bed, and we have:

Roomwhores_01.jpg

Roomwhores_02.jpg

Roomwhores_03.jpg

Roomwhores_04.jpg

Roomwhores_05.jpg

The computer is now on the kitchen table we never used, and it's much nicer for it to be in here anyway. I still need to get a little thing to hold my computer case, otherwise mopping the kitchen floor will be a huge bitch.

So SE++ers, what do your domiciles look like?

my room is a small room with a bed and a dresser covered in action figures

my living room is a fairly bare area with a couch and a love seat and a cruddy tv on a tv cart I got from target for 20 bucks

I am pretty cool with that

I just got a brand new 32" tv today so I will set it up tomorrow and post pictures. Gotta rearrange my room to fit it though, it won't fit in the spot my 20" is in now.

I live in a nice house, renting a room from a very nice family, and I spend 99% of my time at home sitting on an uncomfortable chair using my computer. I really should get a new chair.

That entertainment center was a bitch and a half to put together

They count on you having a nice flat surface to put all the pieces together and we didn't have that

Basically you put the middle bit together and then expand outward from there

it involved a delicate balancing act of putting the thing on the bed and literally holding it together while putting the sides/top/bottom on

I spend all of my money on electronic shit I stop using after a week and never touch again.

It just keeps on piling up. Theres 3 digital cameras in my room somewhere. I've probably taken a grand total of 20 photos in my entire life, and those were all during the one time I went to disney land (world, whichever is in Florida)

I really wanted to get this for a computer desk when our plans were to get a smaller entertainment center and desk to put nearby it:

    http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90079211

Unfortunately it's way too tall for the kitchen, in that it would block out the damn windows, which sucks

this kitchen table is fine anyway, I've got no complaints

Expect to come home one day to find exactly half of that puppet burned to a cinder.

I have a thing against toys and figures

I forbade Mori from buying the special edition Halo 3. His reaction: A plastic helmet! COOOL! My reaction: A fuckin' dust magnet. Great.

I feel your pain, living in so many tiny bedrooms myself

I did live in one where my single (slightly smaller than a twin) bed took up nearly half the room

    it was crazy
