I played Earthworm Jim 2 before I played 1. I played through 2 like a billion times, but it wasn't as good as 1 was (aside from Tube Race, fuck Tube Race)
I think I will play through Metroid Prime again soon.
I was blown the fuck away by the first one
No lie. I have beaten that game at least ten times.
I fell in love with it when it was released. Everything about it was perfect or near perfect to me.
True dat
Everything about it was so well executed
I really liked the Chozo lore bits you could find, it was a lot of fun to put together that story piece by piece
Especially this entry
As the veil of lunacy descends, as past and future blend and shuffle, one image appears and flickers through the landscape, wraithlike. It is the Hatchling, the Newborn, walking the path of corruption, a lone figure shining in the toxic shadows. She comes dressed for war, and her wrath is terrible. Do our eyes look backward, seeing the Hatchling as she once was? Or does she approach even now, arriving in our race's last hour, a savior clothed in machines crafted long ago by Chozo hands?
I felt like 2 was a terrible follow up to 1. When I was playing it I couldn't get the idea that I would rather be playing 1 out of my head. So I did just that and haven't regretted it.
I remember I used to frequent a metroid site, the metroid database I think it was, and the guy who makes the site actually quit on prime 2. I think it was then that I realized just how... well, not bad it is, but there must be something really wrong with it if a metroid fanatic gives up on it.

Badass
Goddamn I just jizzed in my pants. I don't think I can resist the temptation to play it.

Man, it was not that bad at all
I had a blast with 2
I played through it all, but my complaint was that it was actually too long. It felt like it ran out of steam about 2/3rds way through. That, and the environments were kind of suck, except the techno-sky fortress place. That part was awesome as all get out.

I'm not really up on the console scene, but it sounds like it could have been a NMA sort of situation.

I think there must be something wrong with me. I didn't really 'get' prime 1 but loved prime 2. I think it was because the setting was so much more unique. Prime 1 was like "ice world", "fire world", "ancient temple world" and "enemy hq world". Prime 2 was "bizarre desert world", "creepy swamp and hydropower station world" and "ridiculously badass future world".

but I didn't much care for Hunters.
I guess the Castlevania games have kinda kept me sated on this front.
I don't have a Wii
eventually I will and Prime 3 will be one of the first games I pick up for it
FUCK that part after Rundas fight with the ship and the infinite Space Pirates

Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts

Earthworm Jim 2 is in no way better then Earthworm Jim 1, honestly
I was blown the fuck away by the first one
I had Earthworm Jim 1 on the Genesis and 2 on the SNES. You can't go wrong with either though. Play both for fucks sake.
Prime 3 is really damn good too
Prime 2 was about half a millenia too long

It really is way too long and tedious
Prime 2 was not good enough to hold my interest
I love prime 3 but my grandma is the one who owns the wii and the game and she beat it before I was halfway through.

it manages such a sense of isolation
and the transfer to the third dimension was handled perfectly
Metroid Prime is still to me the best looking game ever. The music was fucking excellent too.

No Mutants Allowed
Think of a combination of smashboards zealotry with wikipedia's pedantry.
basically the fallout community spat venom at fallout 3
"fallout is a game that calls itself a fallout game, but it just isn't true."
