Show thread:Well it's a waste because Jaime isn't heir any more. By joining the kingsguard Jaime basically said fuck you to his dad and made Tyrion Tywin's only heir.
I wonder if it's spoiling to say that there was a fuck you to tywin, but it was Aerys saying it?
But that brought up another question to me, is there any documented case of a knight being offered the kingsguard position, and refusing it? Can a member of the kingsguard (except where they requested it) be considered to have had a choice in joining, or was it basically:
Monarch: You. You're my bitch now
Knight: Okay *mopey face*
And lets not forget Deputy-Inspector Rat Bucket.

Ergo the brother-sister pairing of Jaime and Cersei could indicates some kind of neuro disease with hereditable behavioral impact on their offspring. Especially considering the kids get a double genetic helping.
I have never heard that before, are there studies or something?

In short: Living together makes the other probably sexually unattractive- but genetic similarity can make them attractive, so siblings who do NOT live together could be more attracted to each other
