Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Five years ago today is when Officer Weekley, who was part of a raid on the wrong house and was playing up for a reality show, shot 7-year-old Aiyana Jones while she was asleep on her grandma's couch.

He tried lying about the grandma grabbing the weapon, saying that it caused the gun to fire.

He was charged with a misdemeanor, which was dismissed, and is currently back in service.

Despite countless hours of playing Etrian Odyssey Untold, I haven't messed TOO much with the grimore system and I noticed Simon was using a grimore that only had like 2 skills, so I decided it was time to synth some. And I ran out of room, so there's that as well. After messing with it a bit, I realized I don't know how it works as well as I thought I did.

(I know I could google a lot of this but pretty much every site that would be useful is blocked here =p.)

So my understanding was any skills on the gem that I equip, the user would gain access to those skills.
For example, I made a whip mastery (which states that it gives the character the ability to use whips) one with a few other skills. I wasn't able to equip a whip on that character and none of the skills show up.
I equipped a second character with a gem that has resuscitate (because having only Simon be able to revive was getting to be a problem). The skill does not show up when I go to the skill menu in the field.
And yet, my third character who had a gem with [skill that I can't recall the name of but makes it so anytime you kill an enemy as that character, the party gets HP back] worked just fine.
    What am I missing?

Also, do they gain level as you use them? I've never paid attention to the numbers next to the skills and if they grow or not.

IIRC, the first stone sets the total number of skills, skills are chosen from a pool derived from the first two grimoires selected for the synth and the third grimoire only determines the weapon type.

The grimoire weapon type (determined by third stone in a synth selection) is what allows off-class weapons to be wielded. Having an ability like whip mastery 5 on a grimoire stone only boosts the damage of a whip attack, if one is being used for the attack.

The numbers are the combination of the ability levels contained within the stone. They are set when the stone is examined or synthesized.
