it's packaged with an in-universe documentary about the original Minutemen, i believe.
It's not part of the film though
For a movie as long as it is, there is no justifiable way to include it. I still miss it.
Ultimately to me Watchmen is a commentary and deconstruction of super hero comics, making it inherently unsuitable as a film. They realistically did the best they could with it while still trying to make money.
I'm like 80% sure one of the editions has The Black Freighter integrated into the film proper

Took a little doing, but I managed to watch Into Darkness at a theater in Des Moines, Iowa. The 'crowd' did not laugh at Bones' "corn fed" line.
