Hello, you may now embed "gifv" simply by pasting the link (same as youtube). Enjoy!
Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

    so close.

I am so close to finishing up sewing in these ends and then taking a good look at backing this blanket with the white minky. so. close.

And then, when that's over. I can work on making something for my own little one.

    work was better today.

I'm still not completley comfortable, but I'm self-aware enough to know when my hormones are getting the better of me and i just needed to cry like a crazy person and hate everything last night and then follow it up with a greasy burger and a milkshake.

So while I'm not 100% sure of what my future is going to entail, today was better.

Especially after reading the new maternity leave policy from our new corporate overlords.

I can take either 7 weeks at full pay or 14 weeks at half pay. And that's in addition to the 16 weeks from the government and also in addition to any annual leave days that I have saved up.

So basically, I'm going to end up with something like 30-32 weeks of income (approx $400/week, so not much exactly) out of my full 52 weeks of leave.

    Yeah, I love this country.

so went to the baby show today!

got a couple different types of cloth nappies, picked up a maternity body pillow for sleeping, and bought our stroller/pram/buggy thing! also had a look at some wraps, just need to find one that's big enough! Sadly they only had the smaller sizes in stock at the show. but I do have a coupon!

so much reading material and pamphlets and stuff!

made a slow cooker pot roast last night. omg delicious

    2cups beef broth
    1/2 cup light brown sugar
    1/4 balasmic vinegar
    1 Tbsp soy sauce
    3 cloves of crushed garlic
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
    2-4lbs beef roast
    2-3 medium carrots, cut chunky
    2-3 medium potatoes, cut chunky
    white mushrooms, halved

In your crockpot put in the carrots, mushrooms, potatoes.
Put your roast on top or in and around

whisk all other ingredients together in a separate bowl, pour over meat and veggies.
    put lid on crockpot
    Turn on low 6-8 hours

oh my nom nom nom nom

I'd probably put more garlic and definitely more balsamic in next time, for my personal tastes. but ti's got this tangy sweetness to it that's just amazing. the meat's pretty good, the veggies were phenomenal.
