Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

  • 2013 Registration is SOLD OUT - sellout FAQ in the OP

The biggest logistical nightmare of adding another PAX would have to be designing a whole new set of Pinny Arcade pins.

I'm usually the guy that is like "tough luck" and "life isn't fair", but even I feel like this is a huge misstep by the people in charge of PAX. As far as I know, onpeak hotels didn't charge and won't charge if you cancel. If you went through other means this might not be true. Someone mentioned they already took days off of work. I would hope your work is flexible enough to let you change plans 4 months out, but maybe not. However, flights are a very large cost and they are not refundable. You literally have to die to get your flight ticket refunded, and even then I heard it's a pain in the ass. If the numbers are as low as you say, less than 1% of sales, then I would hope you have the manpower to wade through each and every email from people willing to give evidence they aren't scalping. Whether it be flight receipts, hotel reservations, a picture of their group attending PAX East accompanied with their driver's license, whatever ridiculous evidence you require the actual fans hurt by this decision will be able to procure it.

I know the following comparison isn't quite fair, but it makes me laugh. It's Black Friday. Target is selling some lego sets 50% off, but limit you to two sets. You end up going through the checkout with four sets, and the cashier doesn't realize the stipulation. You walk out with four sets of legos. Then a week later, when they are already built and displayed, some security guard from Target breaks into your home, causing over $1000 in damages, steals two of your lego sets, and leaves cash on the table in the amount of two lego sets. Actually, they leave an IOU on the table, to be redeemed at a later date. So ridiculous.

People in charge of PAX. You messed up by allowing the purchases to go through. Sure your warning in 8pt font on the bottom of the page might clear your conscious, but you messed up. Yes, your customers messed up too. Most business that I know of don't screw their customers after the company messed up.

  • Pokémon X and Y: They Finally Ran Out of Colors. Out Globally in October!

Though, the fact that the Gen 1 and Gen 2 remakes are still within compatibility range means that you can still get everything from them, too. If you're willing to go through the ridiculous transfer chain from FR/LG to B/W, that is. With this new game, you'll actually have to transfer across 4 different games with at least two different devices, one of them having to be an older DS that still has a GBA slot, so it'll be extra ridiculous, but still possible.

I feel like I'm woefully under prepared for this. I have all of the hardware. I need to go learn things on the internet. brb

  • [GW2]The new thread is not innovative. It is however FUCKING AMAZING.

Crafting gives experience so that partially explains why mats cost more than the finished product. In wow crafting gives tangible stat bonuses. High end crafting in wow resulted in big profits until others caught up. I think it's wrong to judge the long term profitability of crafting based on two weeks of lowbie data.
