some fuckin guy in customer service: "Ugh. You tech support guys can do discretionary credits. You know that, I know you can do it. I don't need to do this."

me: "Discretionary credits are a customer service issue. It's compliance with policy, bro, this is your customer."

sfg: "No, you can do this."

me: "I'm doing my job. You do your job. Now I'm bringing the customer through, stand by."

and then we had to both be faux affable even though he is frowning hard
