Dude we get paid stupid money.

I am spending rather willy-nilly and still keeping half of my paycheck in the bank.

Two paychecks in I will easily have $2k sitting in the bank (probably more) when my third paycheck hits.

And I've picked up a TV, a bike, a PS3, a couple of videogames, an arcade stick, drank and ate my fill, and sunk god knows how much money into the arcade.

We get paid stupid money for what we do man.

You are young and unattached, in a foreign country, right? Now is not the time for fiscal responsibility. When I was young I spent almost 30k in one summer, and it was the best summer ever. You have your whole life to be responsible.

Honestly, wrong advice. If your future profession leaves with you a 20k income, spending 30k in one summer is unsurmountably stupid.

I didn't tell him to spend $30k. But you can't live your whole life being responsible, especially when you are young. Stand on your desk. Kiss a girl in the middle of the day. Carpe Diem! Oh captain my captain.

Some people have to live being responsible from day one, lest they die of starvation. Not in Africa. In America.

I think there is a bit of hyperbole in this post.
