As far as Richard's quote and #1 on mxmarks spoiler: Spoiler:
He could just be assuming that they died. For example, bomb Jack, Jin, etc are with the bomb, and something catastrophic occurs. Many people die. The event (aka the incident) catapults the O6 back to the present, but all Richard sees is massive destruction, many dead, and no further trace of the O6 people. It would be a safe bet to assume they died. Its already been demonstrated that these time jumps suprise the hell out of Richard.
Yeah.
Spoiler:
I wouldn't be surprised if at least one of them died, but I don't think they're all going to die next week.
Hell, Marks, I'm surprised you haven't taken the obvious one that kinda shows that all of this was kinda meant to happen. Well, at least Locke's stuff...
Spoiler:
His current self telling Richard to talk to his time flashing self? So, all along, Locke came back because future Locke told Richard to tell him to bring people back. If it hadn't worked out, future Locke wouldn't have been there to tell him these things. Unless it's just what is supposed to be happening in this current present. But the current present doesn't seem to be able to work without the past needing Jack/Hurley/Kate/Sayid. So...
I think we just have to figure out what part of everything 'wasn't supposed to happen', because it seems like everything is happening as it did before. Was it Desmond himself that just happened? Was it turning the failsafe? Was it surviving the failsafe? If Desmond let Charlie die when he was originally supposed to, would all this have happened(looking glass would've still been up)? Taking it from Ellie's perspective, like you have, yeah. All of this must've happened. All of this is what she saw back in the past, so how far does she know? Same with Charles. He knows a bit more than what he lets on, of course. Then again, I'm sure a lot of them don't know a lot.
Rewatched the episode last night as well and figured out where Dan is during that period. I think we brought it up already, though, but Ellie is definately pregnant...just a random thought.
Also just remembered that this also means we have an Ajira boat shoot-out to see soon...
As far as your first point in the spoiler
Spoiler:
I wouldn't be surprised if someone dies next week, it just better not be Hurley. I'm a little worried because he's the only one out of the group in the past I actually care about and they tend to kill off people I like.
Spoiler:
Please let it be Kate.
I'm betting on Miles. He's served his little purpose, and they killed off the rest of TEH NEW CHALLENGERS from the freighter just like they did with Ana Lucia, Libby, Eko and the other one.

Spoiler:
Well, yes, but you have to remember that Sun just asked about the people in the picture and then mentioned her husband. Richard said "Yeah, I know these people." So...I'm pretty sure he was just talking about Hurley, Jack and Kate, the people in the picture.

Yeah, it's a timeloop. But that's what it is. MAAAAAAAAAAGIC. Which is fine, IMO.
Comic-Con video with Dr. Chang?
Spoiler:
Canon, but non-canon. They meant for it to go somewhere, but the ideas changed and the story evolved to where it is now. Yes, that's Dan in the video, but again, the video didn't really happen. Is really just a teaser for Season 5.
Writing Lost?
Spoiler:
Yes, it's really just written pretty close to production and they just know the big things about what's happening. Not everything is written out beforehand.
Good Guy/Bad Guy:
Spoiler:
Hurley - Good
Kate - Good, to Damon
Richard Alpert - Undecided
Frank - Bad. Wait, no...good.
Sayid - Good & Bad(has done bad things in his life)
Flaming 60-foot-tall Jacob(running joke) - Good
When will we(the viewers) have enough info to figure out the REAL ending of the show?
Spoiler:
By the end of this finale and beginning of season six.

I was pretty stoked for the finale after wednesday's episode and the preview right after, but I just saw another preview during the basketball game and it made the finale seem all about
Spoiler:
The jack/kate/sawyer/juliet love square/rectangle/rhombus/trapezoid whatever.
I know the previews are written by the abc monkeys and often have only the most tangential resemblance to the episode but still, I really wish I hadn't seen the preview because if that's what the focus will be then ugh....
The final scene is compared to the season one finale: blowing open the hatch and not revealing the contents.
Noooooo. I hate those.
Just a tiny blurb about the final scene of the next episode, no real spoiler.
That's the end of every damned episode.

It's strange how Locke thinks he can take everyone to Jacob's cabin when he tried that and failed near the beginning of season 4. What makes him think he can find it this time?
Go back and watch Locke in that episode (Cabin Fever). He hadn't a fucking clue what the hell was going on. He is pretty much the complete polar opposite (omgz lolz antipode theory!) of that Locke. That Locke was wandering around the jungle going "I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO, I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO!?!?", this Locke is all "Follow me bitches!"
Yeah, my friend and I were talking about how we liked that Locke finally found his destiny again, and is the Season 1/2 Locke who gets shit done.
It's not Cabin Fever I'm talking about. It was The Economist, where the group splits up into the party who thinks the ship is coming to save them, and the party that thinks it's coming to kill them.

They are showing the full finale live at the Alamo Drafthouse in San Antonio, so I am heading there on Wednesday.
I also think it'd be wonderful if in the finale, Jack is messing with the hydrogen bomb, Jin gets frustrated and yells at him, so Jack looks up and shouts "Dammit Jin, I'm a doctor not a physicist!"
Spoiler:
*BADUM-TSHH*

I'm betting they still need Miles to talk to Dan and learn his plan (i.e. how the hell does a hydrogen bomb work, anyhow?)

I know some of you don't go into the Lost thread in SE++ but everyone needs to see these as they are awesome (images in spoiler tags as they are kind of big):

Ok, so, I went to a concert tonight. The Dead (formally the Grateful Dead, but now The Dead without Garcia)
There was this guy in the row in front of me who I partied with the whole night.
1. He had an incredible knowledge of philosophy and literature and kept discussing it with me, especially on the points of fate, destiny, and "what I thought my purpose on this earth was."
2. He had the exact same speech pattern and accent, and kept calling me "brother"
I was thinking how they were going to go about the whole Spoiler:
Detonate the fucking H Bomb
I'm sure Jack is a pretty smart fella being a surgeon and all but unless either Dan left pretty simple instructions in his handy dandy journal or if there is a big "PUSH ME" button on the bomb, I'm wondering how that is going to pan out.

Again, I say, Miles.

If this season ends with a retarded cliffhanger that almost explains anything, I'm going to ram my cock through the television screen, I swear to god.
On a lighter note, that picture is all that is awesome in this world.
