I'm sad to admit that I had to use the internet to solve one of Riddler's riddles.
Spoiler:
the one in the caves. "A puzzle has many sides, but only one is visible".
I saw the partial ?, I just couldn't find the dot to connect it. It bugs me since I play this game in full-on GDB mode, and I'll be damned if I let that goddamn Riddler get the best of me.
Spoiler:
It didn't help that upon solving the puzzle, he accused me of "using the internet".
I also used the internet to find the last 3 Joker Teeth in the Mansion, but I didn't hold that one against me since A) that's more of a Joker challenge, and with Joker you have to use everything at your disposal, and B) they were located at a really bullshit location.
In any event, the Riddler challenges have been completed, and now I can post this to celebrate.
Just stumbled onto a cutscene I had missed on my first playthrough...picked a different door in the Gardens and witnessed Joker electrocuting a guard and telling me to pick up my shit. Guess I turned off the power in that flooded hallway too early last time. Cool to see, Joker cutscenes are always the shit.
I too found something new. Climbed high in that cave room before going into the Joker's secret lab, some dead goon drops out of a vent half mutated and Batman contacts Oracle about hurrying the fuck up before they get bigger.

I'm not sure I've seen the electocution one, but I got the body one the first time.

Selina Kyle ?
Harvey Dent #37
Jarvis Tetch ?
Basil Karlo #791
Waylon Jones #211
Oswald C Copplebot ? ?
Arnold Wesker ? ?
Luke Oliver ? ?
So it looks like Clayface was invited to the party.
Only Waylon, Basil and Luke aren't crossed out on the list so the smiley faces may mean that they were present for the party and unhappy faces meant they'd escaped though why Catwoman is in Arkham I dunno, is that where she goes? Dunno who Luke Oliver is.
Poor Eddie, so lame in this version he can't even be invited to help fuck with Batman.
But then Ivy, Bane and Scarecrow aren't on there either. I'm really not sure what the intention of the party was.
Spoiler:
I'm not sure what that list is actually supposed to mean anyway. Ivy isn't on that list but is a hindrance because Harley decides to let her out and Joker needs to do something since The Batman destroyed the Titan manufacturing facility.
Bane was Patient X and was there because Dr. Young was using him and his Venom to produce the Titan strain.
Scarecrow? Well, that one is never really explained. There are some mooks who wonder why Joker let him out, but they decided to lock him in the sewers with Croc. It's probably 'all part of the plan' whatever that was. Maybe to release the Fear Toxin into Gotham to further increase the panic and destruction when the titans started their inevitable rampage?
Just how much of Joker's plan involved Batman's continued presence on the island is kind of up in the air.
Spoiler:
I can only assume that everyone on that list was meant to be there and be released for the party and help break the Bat but the majority of them had already escaped or been released because while I could understand no wanting to include Dent or Kyle because of their flip-flopping nature Tetch isn't a good guy at all. Its possible Quinn was there to release Clayface but got taken out before she had the opportunity.
But yeah, I really have no clue.
And I assume Luke Oliver is another contest winner because I've never heard of him/
Spoiler:
Oh yeah, I forgot about Clayface.
The problem with the theory that the list means or indicates who can be released for the party kind of ignores the scene where Harley is talking to Ivy and is presumably on her way to release Clayface who is in the next room and she doesn't do it.
I don't remember the specific sequence of events, but this is shortly before the fight that leads to Harley's capture, right? If Clayface was necessary for Joker's plan, why didn't Harley let him out? But I think I have my timeline wrong... Still, there should've been plenty of time and oportunity for him to be released if he was meant to.
Spoiler:
I think everyone on the party list were either people to free and stop/slow down/distract Batman... or people to give Titan injections once Joker got it working.
Maybe the new DLC will shead like, if it isn't more challenge rooms
I thought it was a nice touch that Ivy wasn't on the list, as her and Joker tend to be antagonizing towards each other in various media, usually because of the way he treats Harley.
I liked the small part where Joker and Ivy taunt each other over the PA system, too.
But man, in my first playthrough, I completely missed the dialogue where Joker said he shot Ivy up with Titan. I just assumed she went crazy nutso on her own, but things make a little more sense now. I was kind of wondering why she went from just kinda chilling out in the greenhouse to a PMS'ing Mother Nature in the blink of an eye.
A bunch of the villains weren't really working with the Joker, it seems. Ivy was only out because of Harley, Bane was there against his will, and Croc was never even freed in the first place. Which seems weird to me, cause letting Croc loose would lead to the kind of chaos you'd think Joker would enjoy. I'm not sure what the party list was about, either...cause Joker really didn't seem to be making much of an attempt to free and team up with the other inmates. Harley was of course working with him, and Zsasz was at least a little. Scarecrow seemed to be in on it, as far as I can tell. Both him and Joker seemed t have to common goal of driving Batman to the breaking point.
And now that I think about it, during the third hallucination, the four villains that are leading Batman down the hall are Joker, Harley, Zsasz, and Scarecrow. The four that are at least partially working together. Croc, Bane, and Ivy didn't show up in that at all.

HAHA! Guys, just after you rescue the doctor in the surgery room (its the middle one) look at the X-rays on the walls.
Actually heres the pics and the location of where it is. Man, I need a life... Spoiler:

but then its what do the smiley/frowny faces mean. I could definitely see him desiring to Titan up Croc and Clayface while finding no benefit in doing it to Two Face or Mad Hatter but why bother listing them at all? It looked like Harley had actually been to their cells and found they weren't present for the party and thus crossed them off.
Whereas Clayface and Croc were both present, so perhaps they were for a later stage of the plan that didn't come around or they were meant to come to the party and get amped up but Croc got taken out. Still doesn't explain Clayface unless Harley was meant to release him and she got beaten before that. Joker probably didnt want them running free and escaping/eating his minions before his plan came together.
Though could you imagine going into a new area and an insane Croc is chasing you?

Spoiler:
Croc wasn't let loose because Joker's Henchmen had the reasonable fear of getting eaten by Croc if they let him go.
You could hear them talking about when you leave the batcave for the first time, trying to decide which is worse: getting eaten by Croc... or telling Joker they couldn't find him.
Is it safe to assume then that those on the party list and a bunch of others have now escaped. The cells we find for each that are mostly vacant. I'm assuming Mr Freeze is still in his secured cage, Clayface was laughing as you left maybe he's got a way out.
Basically what I'm saying is, the no shows for the party, we expect in the sequel right?

Installing the game and doing some transfers with my saved game fixed it! (I have no idea how, but it did huzzah!).
I was able to finish the game, getting past the second to last part easily (they decided throwing bodies was for losers) and the final boss was actually really straightforward (pretty intuitive to realize what you had to do). It's really creepy wandering around Arkham without opposition once you finish the game.

I was able to finish the game, getting past the second to last part easily (they decided throwing bodies was for losers) and the final boss was actually really straightforward (pretty intuitive to realize what you had to do). It's really creepy wandering around Arkham without opposition once you finish the game.
yeah really. I was so antsy running around without faces to punch
It just doesn't feel right and makes me feel more paranoid, because I'm constantly expecting the game to have something jump out at me.

Almost finished the story, good to know there is an epilogue, since I've spent so much time finding all of The Riddler's puzzles.
And this game has inspired a new motto in my day to day life:
"Show me a problem which can't be solved by punching someone in the face, and I'll show you a problem where you're not punching hard enough."
The book that comes with the Limited Edition has "ESCAPED" stamped on Freeze's profile, but I'm assuming that must be wrong due to the fact that it is still frozen up all around his cell.
I think Clayface was laughing just because he's a dick.
It might just be the fact my Batman lore isn't up to much, but I can't really suss out which parts are the clues. Anyone gimme just the tiniest nudge in the right direction? I don't want to know the answer, but just need the smallest hint in where to start. Please?

Well basically at some point in the early 90s Frank Miller lost his mind and with it his ability to write
I don't get this at all. I'm not a huge reader so I've only gone through the staples like Sin City and DKR...they were enjoyable but had huge issues, as I've gathered most of his work does. Then, finally, today I read Year One, and it's superb. I don't get it. It's like it's a different author.
Spoiler:
...Clayface!

You're looking for the 24th tape?
Spoiler:
Return to the location where you left the one person most analogous to Arkham.
Of course, somebody will just come along and answer it, but where is the fun in that?
