if you want your daughter to remain a virgin forever I think a tramp stamp of her dads face would do the job yes

"what's that?"

"My dad."

"Uh"

If you would have to pay for it I would say

never in a million years

I would imagine out of all the sorts of tattoos you can get tramp stamps would age the worst.

tramp stamps are the sole domain of girls who have just turned 18 and are rarin' to make some bad decisions

how old is she exactly? If you're snorting at the idea of her having the money to pay for it, she's too young. If you're CONSIDERING paying for it you should pay for her to get another nose grafted to the side of her neck so that you can sponsor something else she'll regret in two years.

also every time I bring up with my mom that I want a tattoo she tells me this "cautionary tale" of her good friend who got a dolphin on her ankle and later regretted it

I'm like "uh no shit" but my mom thinks that all animal tattoos are alike I guess

my parents were all "you're going to regret getting a tattoo" before i got it

but now they both really like it.
it represents my family though
i'm a firm believer that if it's not of some significance to me, it's going to run the risk of me getting bored of it
but since mine means a lot to me, it has become just another part of my body
like... i don't regret having a left foot
i don't regret having my tattoo.

i'd say don't.
she is going to regret it, i've not met a girl yet who hasn't regretted the meaningless tats they got on their lower backs in a fit of teen hormones.

There are exceptions

Like if you're Jewish and you don't want your grand parents asking you why you did that every time you go to visit them

i don't see how this is an exception
this cements the "don't let her do it" theory if you ask me.

My mom's sole experience with tattoos is her two friends going to get tattoos with out her, one getting a dolphin on her ankle and the other getting a butterfly tramp stamp and, surprise surprise, they both ended up regretting it. So my mom is basically sure that I'm going to regret it.

For my dad, tattoos are the bricks that pave the road to a heroine addiction and male porn, so I'd honestly probably hide it from him forever or something.

But I definitely want my tattoos to be of significance. Not so that I can justify them to other people, because I kinda get tired of explaining what tattoos "mean" - it's personal, I don't expect other people to get it. Some of my tattoo ideas I can't even really articulate why they mean so much to me - they just do and I want to have them become a permanent part of my appearance. I don't really understand getting tattoos just for the aesthetics of it, although tattoos should be beautiful.

I'm going to take this opportunity to link my maybe hopefully one-day tattoo artist who is absolutely incredible and I think Usagi showed her to me?: http://www.amandawachobtattoo.com/

also beavo what do you have now as far as tattoos go?

got my first tattoo at 19, the folks didn't notice it until a few months after i got it. of course they hated it.

at 32 i have many more. dad doesn't care anymore. my mom still doesn't like them, so i wear long sleeved shirts when i visit so she can pretend they aren't there. which is kinda funny.

I say strike a deal with her such that if she does all her homework and makes good grades she can get a Henna tattoo or some other kind of temporary tattoo, but until she can purchase such a service under her own power/lives under her own roof she cannot have the real thing.

Okay, someone convinced me to post my tattoos, so here they are!

Spoiler:

This one means a lot to me, it's the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. It's between my shoulderblades, and I think it turned out really well. I've had it for going on 2 years now. I got this because I'm a huge math nerd as well as a Computer Science major. Another important meaning this has for me is as a reminder to never forget who I am, and not to be ashamed of my geekery.

Spoiler:

I just got this one on Labor Day Weekend, so I've had it for about two weeks now. It turned out fantastic, the artist did a really fantastic job and I couldn't be happier with it. Yes, it's the crest of the royal family of Hyrule. Zelda is the video game series that I've enjoyed the most throughout the years, and I really love the design and the way it looks. I decided not to go with a golden triforce because I think it looks better without color.

Anyways, that's me. Happy Alyce?

Edit: The zelda tattoo is on my right shoulder

I kinda wish I had an opportunity to meet with her before I went overseas - that's exactly the kinda tattoo I want and I'm so jazzed to get it.

I wonder if there's anyone else with her style in Europe. I mean, there probably is, but I wonder how I could track them down.

Maybe I'll email Amanda and be like "hey I know you want to make money off me but recommend me some other people that could make money off me instead of you"
