My mom's sole experience with tattoos is her two friends going to get tattoos with out her, one getting a dolphin on her ankle and the other getting a butterfly tramp stamp and, surprise surprise, they both ended up regretting it. So my mom is basically sure that I'm going to regret it. For my dad, tattoos are the bricks that pave the road to a heroine addiction and male porn, so I'd honestly probably hide it from him forever or something. But I definitely want my tattoos to be of significance. Not so that I can justify them to other people, because I kinda get tired of explaining what tattoos "mean" - it's personal, I don't expect other people to get it.
