TSE futures for October are closed, which they do the day before NPD hits, so yes.

I keep hoping that the new ones are as great as Lufia 2 was.

It's official. We gamers have zero self-discipline.

So, prelim numbers for MW2. 4.7 million in one day across multiple regions. With the British # at 1.2 mil, that gives it 3.5 mil day one in the US. I believe that beats Halo 3's record.
Would be interesting to scale that number against the number of available 360s. Halo 3 sold to about 14 million 360s, MW2 is coming out to an user base of 32 million.

I have to wonder why Perfect Dark has an M rating. I can't think of anything that was in it that would deserve it.
When you shoot people, not only do they get bloody, their blood splatters all over the wall behind them.

Seems to qualify for M to me.

I can't wait to see the reaction after this happens.

I just really want to see what happens when as many as a million Live users are shut off for this reason.

quote:
"My name's Raz, I'm 25 years old, I'm a massive Xbox gamer. I play every day after work and all day on the weekends.

The Xbox for me is just about playing online, that's why I love it - well did!

It was a big day yesterday, the latest game we've been waiting months and months for. We've played the whole series and this one's come out, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

All loading up, everything's going well, I was happy. It came on to the start screen of Call of Duty and I thought, 'Do you know what, let me quickly sign in online'. I sign in online and next thing I see, 'Your console has been banned from Xbox'.

I was pretty distraught at the time, I can't remember exactly what it said but I saw the words 'banned' and I was gutted, completely gutted.

At first I was in shock, I mean it's always at the back of your head using pirate games you know there's that possibility but you haven't heard about it, there's been no warnings and you haven't heard it happen to anyone in the last two years.

I wasn't expecting it. I was just like, 'OK, what do I do now? Is this just a joke?' So I thought, 'Let me restart the Xbox'. I restarted, signed in again, same message. I did that three times, same message. I was pulling my hair out thinking, 'No, why me?'

It's like telling someone their dog's just died. It was pretty much like that for me. I love it, I love playing Xbox live. I play with my mates all the time. It's just a good laugh, we all sit there chatting, playing games. Now I don't know what to do.

I still think they should lower the prices. There are 16-year-old kids out there, they don't earn money so they go screaming to their parents saying, 'Can you buy me this game?'

Fair enough, one game once in a while but the amount of games coming out, good games, everyone wants to play them all. And for them to pay £50 a game?

I took it into a shop [the Xbox], there was a guy back there and I asked him and he did it for me [chipped it]. He charged £75 to get it chipped but at the end of the day I said to myself I'll pay £75 to get it chipped, after two games I've paid the money back.

I've probably saved about £600 and I've copied roughly 30 or 40 games. A lot of them I've downloaded or I've taken off friends that have downloaded themselves.

To be honest, I've contemplated whether to move to Playstation 3 or buy another Xbox. I wouldn't do it again but I really don't know if I'm going to get the Xbox again now."
I read this yesterday and wanted to punch the monitor in anger.

Also have to take into account the rumors of "1 million" modded xboxes being banned. I have a feeling the true number isn't quite that high.

183,000 hits in google if you search for "my xbox 360 was banned" and filter results for the past week, on forums.

I just sort of snicker when these people who illegally modified their XBox to play pirated games, flip out because they are banned from Live.

The best I've read so far is over at Playstation3News, or some stupid fanboi site like that. There is a whole debate thread on there where these people have whipped themselves in to a frenzy, and convinced themselves it's their LEGAL AND GOD GIVEN RIGHT to modifier their XBox and pirate games.

Well, in the strictest sense, it is perfectly legal to mod your xbox. You own it, you can do whatever you want with it. You could cut it in half with a chainsaw and there isn't a court in the country that would say you don't have that right.

What is not legal is distributing copyrighted code (which most mod chips have in them), and pirate games.

Eh, I was hoping the conversation wouldn't carry over into the new thread so I was just keeping it here.

But it appears it's already too late.

What are you thinking of selling it for?
CEX currently give £36 trade in, which means I could get £37 trade in from Gamestation.

Why not just Goozex it?

I have only got two trades left on Goozex, and I think I prefer trading in now that I can do the CEX price match +£1 thing at Gamestation, so I can't see myself buying more. Plus I am buying a PS3 shortly, and so credit at Gamestation is more useful than more games.
