Check around the Red Wing site. They may not have side-zip boots but their boots are guaranteed to be better looking than the ones you are wearing.

Chelsea boots are good boots but probably not as good for fleeing the country when the Russians invade.
Hence the Blundstone boots, which are apparently the Australian answer to Doc Martins and are essentially heavyweight Chelseas.

Ah, gave the Blundstone site a second look and realized that I'd misunderstood a mention of a new particular type of women's boot to mean that they were exclusively selling women's boots; my bad.

I bought this vest just to try out with my shirts and see how they look. The problem is its so busy that the only shirts I can wear are solid color, anyone wanna share their opinion? Most likely going to return it due to bad cut but testing out how to wear a vest in semi-formal style (nice jeans with formal shoes).
Thanks

Are there any dress shirt brands out there that will fit someone with large traps? Every single damn shirt I got has that annoying pull across the armpits up to the neck or what's left of it.

You may have to avoid slim fitting shirts. Try Van Huesen(sp) or just generic Macy's stuff.

It depends if you are a stout/ fat guy or a athletic/ bodybuilder kind of guy. There are shirts cut to both kinds of physiques. Generally shirts cut for the stout or fat are called something like "traditional cut" while stuff cut for muscular guys with broad chests/shoulders and tiny waists are called "athletic cut" or something like that.

"Modern cut" these days means slim cut.

Yeah I'd stick with a white button-down with that vest. Glen plaid or really any kind of plaid is tricky with patterns.

In fact pattern-matching is pretty tough full stop. Basically, you're safe picking one for any outfit and using it sparingly. Anything more than that is an advanced maneuver.

After some internet research I decided that I want to upgrade my American Eagle jeans and I was looking at something like
http://www.tobi.com/product/22669-a-...257#ref=pltext

Is that worth it? I just started my research and I really have no idea what is good and what is not and why you would pay more than $30 for a pair of jeans. But I want to find out.

Nothing wrong with simple stuff that fits well.

I discovered this brand in China, it's a Japanese company, a bunch of nice, simple, no-nonsense clothing in lots of different colors.

My current favorite pair of jeans is from them.

They have a store in NY that my housemate really loves.

I was super disappointed to find out that all their fancy dress attire is essentially slim fit. I'm not a huge dude, I weight like 185 right now, and pretty much none of the blazers fit me. Don't get me wrong, they have a lot of nice stuff, but god damn if their cuts are not made for thin-as-rail people.

I wish Uniqlo came to Australia. They have some nice stuff, like this lovely, lovely blazer. Stupid lack of international shipping.

It's been out of stock for two or three months now. What I don't get is that it went on sale about a month after I started regularly checking (I set up an RSS feed), and no stock has come in.

That might actually be a really good point. I can't find it anymore through their catalogue thing. It's really hard to find nice simple blazers like that, at least where I live. They're either nothing more than repurposed suit jackets or these complicated things with hoods or big metal buttons or threads hanging off or what have you.

I'm not entirely sure how, but I did manage to find a simple-ish twill one a couple of months back. I blame my generation's love of hoodies!

I'm built like a powerlifter. Like those guys you see doing strongman crap on ESPN 12. The "traditional" cut looks like I'm wearing a balloon around the waist, so I try the athletic cut. They don't make look like a pinstriped hindenberg, but I still get this:

If you grew out the rest of your beard you'd look a bit like Jeff Bridges in Iron Man.
