I still would like to see "Man with the Portal gun" gamemode. 5 guys with guns vs one dude with the portal gun. Chaos ensues.
That would be incredible. If the gunmen could take falling damage, though, the level would have to be vertically small, or else the portal guy could just one-shot everyone

Or he could open portals behind him and behind the other guys, making them shoot themselves. "That grenade that just blew up Frank never hit the ground, Jim."
Dodgeball.

I thought of this around page 40, but waited to post until I read the whole thing. You beat me by.. 8 pages?

I was bored of the two, easy maps that seem to be the only custom levels available, so I made my own. I tried to make it challenging, though in a different way than conventional Portal chambers.

This is the end:
Spoiler:
Good work. Took me about 15 minutes to get to the end. Well, the part with the incline. I could see thorgot but couldn't get over the edge of the incline.

I could tell with the other two maps that the creators were practicing. Your map had some meat on it.

Think about it...how many people don't own shower curtains?

It is right up there with lampshade manufacture.

Really?

My bath is over 5' long, and almost 3' wide. Put a mattress in it, and I could almost sleep in it.

What kind of dwarf bathtubs have you seen?

A pretty standard Australian bathtub. I guess things are bigger here.

I wonder if you could somehow use a Portal gun to make a bathtub seem bigger. The water would be an issue, though.

Actually, that's something that needs to be done in Portal... water. Using the portal gun to drain/fill tanks of water by having the water flow from portal to portal.

(Phew... back on topic)

I wouldn't be surprised if this were one of Portal 2's new features. That is, after they figure out how to do real time fluid dynamics without it turning into a slideshow.

I said this same thing a couple days ago. I loved the idea of using a portal to move a pool of water into another room, which makes a platform float for you to cross.

Edit: Although, you'd have to be careful. Remember, do not immerse the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device in liquid, even partially.

Let's say you're in a vent with a portal above and below you. Do you fall? Or are you supported by your infinite selves below?

If you turn on -dev debugging, you find that in any confined spaces, you get slowed or stopped to keep that from happening.

Also, vents don't support the portals.
