HD version

New gameplay videos! Shameless bump so that this doesn't die like the last AoC thread!

Edit:These videos do showcase the new, revamped, combat engine.

A friend of mine is in the Beta.
He ended a bar brawl by picking up and throwing a tavern maid on another fighter.

I am so preordering this game.

Fuck. I'm excited about this game again. I hate when I'm excited about things that are far away, like when there are ads for movies that do not come out until June. That shit sucks.

Totally. Especially when the game was supposed to be out a week ago.

is the HD version better than the youtube ones? The youtube videos you posted are too dark to tell whats going on, and it didn't help that it seemed kinda boring.

I went and signed up for the beta, this looks like it should be interesting. I like the real time combat idea

New post on AgeofConan.com about character creation.

Spoiled:

Spoiler:

When asked why they did not add Charisma as an attribute, designers Griffin and Michaels replied "After a year of beta testing we decided to remove it, as not a single player raised it beyond eight".

Wow, I'm amazed at the backlash this game is getting.

I'm really looking forward to it. With every new updated WAR is just looking more and more like WoW with a new coat of paint, so AoC looks more and more appealing as something that might actually be different and fun.

I really like that they are staying incredibly true to the lore (only humans, only one race can have arcane spellcasters, but that race can't have warriors etc.). I'm definitely planning on playing a fat, ugly khemi cossbowman.

Edit: Wow. I just saw the latest developer diary on the the games graphics, animation and art. Simply jaw dropping.

It's the third development diary on this page.

Looks pretty darn nice to me.

Talking to people, one of the reasons why the animations were so bad at first is that unlike most MMOs they wanted to do motion capture on live actors for all their human animations, but were having a really hard time finding motion capture actors.

no I mean the WAR ones if anything AoC looks more like WoW to me what with CTF and all.

lol I just watched the city siege video and I just love how everyone is lined up perfectly as they prepare to attack. Thats a nice way to make your video and game look good but it is in no way how its going to be. In reality everyone is going to be running around and jumping all over the place while a few female toons strip and dance.

As someone who has been on the WAR beta, and knows that it's only going to be better in time...

I'm putting all my money on AoC.

aren't you breaking the NDA? Others have said all they where allowed to say about WAR beta is that it exists and they are in it. Nothing about the quality of the game.

He said "I am in the WAR Beta", then, "I know it will become better from this point", and finally "I think Conan will be better".

I don't see any NDA breakage.

Wrong.

Players can join and create player made formations, thus forming themselves into neat and orderly blocks or wedges or other such formations for proper large scale tactical maneuvering for PvP.

I guess the old clunky combat system turned a lot of people off, but I never got to see those videos, and the new ones are pretty awesome. Thus, I am stoked. Plus, you know, boobies. Speaking of which, I hope the Master PC follower is customizable

so what you are saying is that in city sieging raids I can put my self in a auto follow/attack mode and go watch a movie... sounds BRILLANT!

I think the idea of formations is very cool, as a military history guy.

That being said, the reality of MMO players means this will rarely be utilized, in favor of female characters stripping down and dancing.
