Anyone have tips for writing a good fight scene?
There was a thread about it at one point, I will try to find it.

Edit: Here it is.

I'm sure this is old news, but I just found this so I'm sure there are other people who don't know about it.

http://writeordie.drwicked.com/ Write or Die! It's a web app that makes it so there are consequences if you don't write. You set your word goal, your time goal (say, 400 words in 10 minutes) and if you start and just stop writing or pause for two long, it can do a couple of things. In Kamikaze mode, if you stop writing, the things you've already written will start to disappear.

Seems like a really motivating way to do sprints!

Kamikazee mode seems pointless when you can always just do a quick control+a control+c.

I noticed there's an "electric shock" mode which interests me. Do you need to hook it u p to an external device?

The electric shock thing is a joke, I'm pretty sure.

Does WoD get brought up every Nano? Also, it can be pretty nifty for sprints, I've used it and like it. But it's stream or cookies or something kept interrupting my internet radio. So open your tunes in a different browser, folks.

I am opposed to anything that deletes words, even if only potentially.

Might wanna be careful with GDocs then, I probably lost about 1000 words altogether last Nano. Of course that's an estimate, because those words are gone now and I'll never know

EDIT: Also, I just use the annoying mode. I like WoD for the built in timer. This Nano I've been sticking with MS Word and www.online-stopwatch.com. I find it far more convenient to be able to keep my novel notes open and have a browser ready for whatever searches. Of course, my word count per sprint has dropped this year...

Getting there, I hit a block earlier but managed to pull some decent info bombs from my hat by cribbing a few of my scrapped ideas together.

Or perhaps MacGyvering.

For whatever reason the tracker site has my timezone wrong, and it is discouraging to see red when it should be yellow. But it's really just a minor complaint I'm making instead of writing.

Note to self, read title of thread.

I'm having a problem I rarely had before. Thanks to my increasing interest in writing screenplays, I'm having a harder time sticking to a perspective. Like I have the heroes discuss a plan, and then I cut to the the villain's perspective as they go alone to the plan, and then back to the heroes after the villain gets thwarted.

I think that's okay EmperorSeth! I mean, it may not be "traditional", but traditional is merely convention. If it's working, go with it! =)

As for me, I'm way behind on my schedule for making an MMT website. I'm going to try and do that today instead of writing and then do double-duty tomorrow to catch up. Unlike writing, I need longer periods of uninterrupted time in which to do coding in order to get anything productive done. =( I think tonight I'll probably hit yellow for the first time, but hopefully on Sunday I can push myself back into green again. =)

Didn't write any more than one (short) sentence yesterday. Time to play catch-up.

I wrote absolutely nothing yesterday because I was too busy drinking. Today, however, is another matter entirely.

New keyboard! Not only that, but I can take the old one back tomorrow and get a refund. Ten dollars!

This puts me a little behind, but I've got all of tonight and I'm off-work tomorrow - so, perfect timing.

Thanks for sprinting, everybody. It helps to do it with other people there. I might get through this yet. I recommend the IRC for anybody struggling to keep up.
