Ya but the amount of extra dexterity you would get would not be worth sacrificing the warmth, which is I assume the whole reason you are wearing anything at all in a water sports scenario.

Probably also for grip in a surfing context. The surface of boards, canoes, or kayaks can be pretty slippery. In the summer I usually just use tevas for that kind of thing, or neoprene booties for the other three seasons.

maybe other water sports but there is no way someone is going to wear booties surfing unless it is cold enough to warrant neoprene |
