( ) I hate it when they map things to the right stick anyway No there are a lot of mechanical improvements especially blocking and tackling and animations don't screw you over the way they did in 09. It used to drive me crazy when a wide-open receiver would do a "spectacular" animation and get slowed down to a crawl instead of just catching the ball in-stride. It's probably the best Madden yet but I wouldn't recommend getting it if you don't have anyone to play with. The single player gets old quick. And you can fight for fumbles, which is a glorified QTE. i just want to turn off all of the cutscenes that can't be skipped. it takes entirely too long to skip i hate the touchdown check by the refs, i hate first down checks, i hate the halftime show(tho it can be minimized to a few seconds). the game's commercials claim it's "the best madden yet", but i honestly feel like it's a step back from '09. tho i do like the improved run game, but on the flipside i hate how many missed tackles there are in this game(tho i guess it is accurate since maybe 15 people in the nfl know how to actually wrap up).

The only significant problem I have with defense in the game is pursuing defenders still take terrible fucking angles. Pass rush and pocket forming mechanics are still fucked up too but not as badly as defensive pursuit. There's no question in my mind that the gameplay is better than 09's though.

Madden 10 is the best they've had. But Butters basically nailed it. Defender AI for pursuit is amazingly weak and defender AI for pass defense is amazingly strong. They've still got the classic LB does a 5 yard horizontal leap to intercept the ball thing going on. Fight for the Fumble is ridiculous bullshit and should be turned off immediately. Single Player gets old within a few seasons, and internet play is basically terrible with a combination of dial up style latency and horrible exploits. Actually, I have been enjoying Superstar mode a lot, but only certain positions are fun. WR sucks, mostly due to the aforementioned super pass defense combined with the AI's predilection for forcing the ball to you. CB sucks because you lose part of that super pass defense in favor of your dumb ass trying to cover. RB is very fun, especially in the right playbook because you are important on every down. I suspect LB or S is also fun, that's what I'm going to try next. With that being said, the game mode is stupidly underdeveloped and takes a learning curve to realize that you aren't missing anything, it really is that underdeveloped.

Yeah it's seriously more realistic for possession to be decided at random during a scrum. Also, poor defender pursuit has plagued the series since 2006 and likely before 2005 too. Madden 2005's defense was fucking sick though.
