What's wrong with you?

I just found out I may have Glaucoma. Great affliction to have at the ripe old experienced age of 22. I don't get to know for sure until 4 days from now.

So. Distractions are great at times like these, when booze refuses to work. Everyone has something imperfect about them, right? Diabetes? Warts (the non-sexual type, if you prefer)? Brittle Bones? Acne? Some cancer somebody had in your family years ago that you're worried you might get? ED? Hypochondria?

Tell me about your illness. Or your family's. I'm morbidly, and I feel appropriately, curious right now.

    I was diagnosed with a stomach ulcer when I was 15.

    Edit - Onset by stress by the way. Never smoked and my diet was never extreme enough to make it happen (agitate it though, yeah).

    Edit - Oh and my doctor also recommended me to therapy for "Adjustment Reaction" but I never followed up on it.

    Gonna try and see a psychiatrist next week to see if I actually have severe depression and anxiety or it's all in my head.

    My grandmother on my father's side was adopted. I tend to take after that side of the family as far as genetics goes so that's great.

    There's also a good chance I have uterine fibrosis. It's not dangerous, it's just benign tumors in your uterus that have a tiny chance of causing a miscarriage or rending you infertile but all I seem to get from it are heavy periods, as far as things go it's basically nothing. My organs are just uglier than usual. My mother did end up getting a hysterectomy done because it was giving her problems though.

    I have this and this. Also I have some of the depression but it's fairly easy to get on top of with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

    but they're small prices to pay on the genetic front because my family has literally zero history on either side of fun things like Heart Disease, Cancer or Diabetes.

    I treasure my sense of humor dearly.
    I don't mean to claim I'm literally the funniest person in all the land and everyone else can just go home, but it's gotten me out of tough spots and without making the jokes I do I wouldn't have the friends I have and I'd probably be much worse off.

    I suffer from severe migraines from time to time, like crippling looking at a computer screen or any screen or any lights makes me throw up kind of migraines. Christ those suck.

    I guess I got some mental problems (depression,addictive personality) especially related to all things sexual. I guess I'm also totally Internet addicted? Maybe porn addicted? Not sure.
    Oh and I have an inability of forming meaningful relationships with people.

    I had mono from like february to april, and now I've got fatigue as a result of it

    also the fever gave me a bunch of weird side effects, like the skin on my hands and face is now ultra sensitive

    I got pneumonia a few years ago, when I went to lay in my bed and sleep I'd end up bolting right back up and coughing for what seemed like forever and I wasn't able to breathe in this fit.

    That was terrifying.

    Also my dad got a glaucoma scare, but they ran more tests and he's ok.

    Oof. Parkinson's. How severe?

    Depression is pretty huge in my family, but I like to think it's because they refuse to drink through their problems and instead stew in them. Mostly joking.

    <3 Actually with the lack of exercise I practice I'm amazed that you can't just roll me around everywhere. I still try to eat healthy of course though.
