I'm kinda' peeved that Alucard's been brought up twice while nobody (to my recollection, anyway) has brought up the old man himself, or at least one specific incarnation of him:

He's got the best line (and probably VA) of the whole game and one of the best of the whole industry, and he looks absolutly perfect for his status and period. C'mon!

All that might be true, but he still sounds like a vampire version of this guy...

It's an even bigger shock that no one has mentioned

Come on, me and a friend spent hours and Game Genie codes (infinite ammo) to see if we could save him in the first game. But then he goes and makes the coolest comeback ever in the second. He only proceeds to become even cooler afterwards.

I can't tell if you're kidding.

Oh, man, now I'm never going to be able to listen to an episode of The Great Gildersleeve again without that picture imposing itself into my mind.

Dante is awesome too. I really liked his attitude in DMC3. All this crazy shit is going on, and he just jokes around with it. What a badass.
I've never played a single DMC, but seeing his role in Nocturne makes me want to.

He was a nice change of pace from all the darkness.

Spoiler:
I didn't really see too much of him in the little bit of Nocturne I played, but he seemed to be more like DMC1 Dante, where he is calm and cool and confident. DMC3 Dante is a bit younger, meaning he's still confident, but brash.

Vivi for the win.
I loved how they wrote his character. It was like the whole gang was trying to save the world, but for the larger part of the story, he was simply trying to find a way to live.

It's a beautiful story contained into one character, he made me like FFIX, and he was awesome.

All of the JRPG/SRPG/Harvest Moon & Derivatives characters you can control. Most I feel, are well written and have a cool aspect when you get deeper in the story. Most of them have a cool backstory and as you go through the game you can't help but love them.

Creatures 2 is my all time favourite game, I actually booted it up last night for a go and I've still got the C64 mags with the two page spreads of the levels and how to complete them. I mean a game with cute little creatures getting: Crushed by rocks, bitten in half by crocodiles, burnt on a spit, CHAINSAWED and lifted in to the air (spewing blood), dissolved by acid and much much more... you can't argue.

I even have a Clyde Radcliffe T-Shirt I made! But in an attempt to seem not TOO geeky, it's only got a tiny 2" by 2" picture of him (The first one from my post actually)

Superstar Saga. It's a (very) minor cameo but the game itself is worth buying on it's own merit.

Dante. He fucking throws a motorbike at a woman.

I immediately thought Dante was the coolest character ever, and now they've stuck some self indulgent little ponce in his place, who wants to fight the fucking son of Sparda? For fucks sake! Supposedly the majority of the game you play as someone else, i'm disappointed, ever so disappointed.

I like how the developers said people were getting tired of Dante, but then just replaced him with a vanilla twin (from what I've seen, anyway)

Dark Mirror was GLORIOUS, too. I actually enjoyed it more than Portable Ops, and that's not due to any lack on PO's part being a perfectly good MGS game.
