He had admirable voice acting before that was a priority; he brought the villain role into three dimensions when RPG storylines were just awakening to deeper storyline possibilities and before the kill-'em-all Jason-ish Luca Blight types became the new rage; he has, and I do not exaggerate, one of the best-drawn and most certainly the best-written game tie-in manga for his backstory; he had the killer kinfe-in-your-throat plot twist and (in the Sega CD version; the remake is a tad overwrought) the blissfully graceful death. And, dammit, at least in the Sega CD version, I *do* believe he was in some way justified. Oh hell yes! I think that was the first game that ever moved me to tears. I wish they'd make a direct port of the Sega CD version. I'd buy that in a heartbeat.

Man, I fucking want to play Shadow Hearts so hard. And MegaTen, damnit. I'd send you the best of them all, Shadow Hearts 1, but I have lost both the original copy I had and the promo copy I got via preordering Covenant. God hates my playing such a badass game.

All of the JRPG/SRPG/Harvest Moon & Derivatives characters you can control. Most I feel, are well written and have a cool aspect when you get deeper in the story. Most of them have a cool backstory and as you go through the game you can't help but love them. If you're not going to venture an opinion that doesn't just confirm our impression of you as an utterly souless bot, then please stop posting. That is my opinion. They are all good in my book, therefore I prefer all of them. Also considering, 98% of the Games I own are JRPG/SRPG/Harvest moon & derivatives it should be obvious. I can't name any single one because they all are good. The idea is that you name characters that you love and why. Such as a specific RPG character that you like and why he's better than the others. It is completely possible to enjoy several characters, and there are many plausible reasons for why katchem gave less detail that don't require such a vicious response. If you want elaboration, try asking. Christ. That said, I always really liked the story and dynamic between Edgar and Sabin. They don't spend a ton of time fleshing it out in-game, but just knowing the sacrifices Edgar made affected how I interpreted the brothers' actions for the rest of the game. Spoiler: show spoiler hide spoiler ..Sabin reintroduces Gau to his father, who rejects the child after all the work he did to become presentable really demands questions about how each of the brothers sees the role of family.
