The amount of physics objects doesn't really affect anything. Me and blakout had about 200 elites on Coag before it started to lag up. It only calculates most physics for the host anyway.

It's just the netcode. Which they said they've vastly improved over 2's.

Also the fact that the game sucks at choosing the right host. I can host 8v8 with no problem, but it always chooses the damn guy on dialup or some shit.

I recall this game running so much better a little over a year ago.

When the game first came out, we used to play BTB everynight with virtually no lag. What the hell happened?

they patched it so the game is less picky about choosing host

also, bridgers probably threw off everyone's Xbox from "learning" to be host. If you were constantly getting bridged (whether they used it to cheat or not), your box would never be chosen for host in non-bridged games.

Kinda off topic but any new word on Halo 2 Vista? I'm almost tempted to upgrade to Vista for it.

Why? you could spend that money towards a 360 and It would be better spent in that way. Vista needs time to get the bugs/glitches/3rd party drivers worked out. Unless you get a free upgrade and your computer won't choke on vistas bloatedness. I would recommend waiting.

I like those map shots on b.net. They don't even have the ones up yet for Tombstone and Desolation, though.

I have a 360. I'd just to play Halo 2 on the pc. Gonna end up forced into Vista in a year most likely anyway for other games. I suck at more Traditional fps games on the gamepad (like halo) but I do alright on say Gears or Rainbow Six. Playing Halo 2 with a keyboard and mouse yummy.

Any of you cats gonna be on tonight for the H2s? I will be, if anyone wants to join me in shenanigans. Send me a friend invite if I'm not on your list(Majority of you I'm not)

but I'll be there, doing the shootin', and the hittin', and the lulz'ing.

Super hot pictures, except for the point where someone had the brilliant idea of having a Hog in the foreground, when applicable.

Hogs make everything better. It's a proven fact.

It also makes you realize that Halo 3 better have as many maps or more.

But they're probably going to charge a lot for DLC this time around

I recommend against it just because its not even fully stable yet driver wise. Give it some time. Otherwise, If you feel like shelling out the cash, who am I to stop you? Btw, I hope you have a nice computer if you are going to upgrade.

maybe I'm just kookoo, but I always thought bungie made the little superjump spots. There would be one corner that had like a plant/piece of glass that you walk under or a little ledge/crack and then ZOOM you're on top of the map.

Heh, the other day I had a guy on the other team tell me that Bungie put superbouncing in the game so that's how it was supposed to be played.

Single needlers aren't worth using. Dualled needlers are incredibly awesome (PINK DEATH! PIIIIINK DEEAATH!); which, I suppose, is the reason the needler's becoming a carbine-ish non-dualable weapon for Halo 3.
"Oh shit guys, we accidentally made the Needler useful if it's dual wielded."

"I know, let's make it a two-handed weapon!"

"Hi5!"

[edit]JoahW, what do you want your name to be on your sig?

[edit mkII: The Re-Editing] Oh and you want it to be 10px shorter so you can keep your mini-sig?
No, it's perfect. Thanks.

Also, about BXRing and whatnot. I never BXR, but I've kind of gotten into the habit of BXBing whenever I get into a melee fight with someone. Is that really frowned upon? I could shake the habit if necessary, but it just kind of got old losing whenever I got in melee distance with anyone.

A few things.

1. I'm actually starting to like Vista as it takes things in Windows that were disparate and non-obvious and integrating them into the core Windows experience. It's the best version of Windows yet, but it just needs some time for drivers to mature and security holes to be plugged.

2. I too have a Live sub card I would swap for say 3200 MS Points.

3. All of Halo 2's multiplayer maps were all presented in a context where they were drawn from a place that existed in the single player campaign. I wonder what they will come up with to place these maps within the existing framework of the universe. It will also be fun to see all the guys at High Impact Halo trying to get out of the map, find superjump spots, and generally try to break the new maps. Same goes for the beta.

4. I'm all 360'd up and hunting the elusive cheap copy of Crackdown. I've seen them for as low as $40 used, but the Cheap Ass in me says there's a better deal out there yet to come.

5. For Halo 3, I may be willing to switch my clan allegances for a spot on the Staff. I know it's going to be serious business around launch time, but I think I can hang. Have Bungie announced whether clan support will appear in the beta or if they will carry over into the final product?

As far as extra features go, I think the Halo 3 beta won't be very beefy. There are only 2 or 3 maps, so I'd be surprised if they added in clan support. Parties, on the other hand, I'd be disappointed to see excluded.

I don't see this happening before or during the Beta. In mid-June EBStop employees are going to be building forts out of the used copies of Crackdown in their downtime. Considering why you posted this, that doesn't really help you.

I loved the demo and loved the full game for about four days. Then I beat it and...there was nothing left. I'm considering selling it myself, depending on how nostalgic I feel about going through the Sai-Gen island again in a few month's time.
