    I can see this going places. Is this going to branch into an actual discussion of gay or bi characters in video games and their impact on stories, or is it going to end up a horrible trainwreck? The suspense is palatable.

    For my two cents, I think he was straight. The reason he gets the gay thing is that the Squaresoft character design seems to learn towards more feminine-looking males. Many Americans seem to equate any male that doesn't have a beard and a big gun and curse a lot to be gay. As I see it, Tidus' sexuality doesn't seem to play a very integral part to the story, but I haven't played the game in a while and Final Fantasy game stories don't seem to stick with me very well.
