I was reading through some old magazines when I came across a two page article about Masq, a game described as an interactive soap-opera. I was put off by this description but once the freedom of choice in the game was compared to Dues Ex I just had to try it. You are working for a struggling fashion company, who are going to have a show at the end of the week to unveil their newest line: Masq. This show is going to make or break the company, and the lives of those who work for the company. The game plays the 4 days prior to the show, and the day of the show. It starts off with you getting a phone call from your friend, who is cheating on his wife. He's asking you to lie for him to his wife. You're given the choice of whether to lie for him or not. Each choice you make in the game effects the rest of it. It's hard to post examples without posting spoilers about story lines, but lets just say the right thing to do isn't always the best thing to do, and visa versa. Each time you play through the game something different happens depending on the choices you make. Most of these choices are moral ones which all have fairly important consequences. The game has no sound, which suits it. The pop-art style graphics also suit it very well too. Screens: Spoiler: show spoiler hide spoiler Also, its labeled NSFW since there can be sex scenes with your wife, the woman you can have an affair with and due to one possible ending involving bondage.

Kind of weird and fun.

I just got that, actually, minus one part: Spoiler: show spoiler hide spoiler I'm not sure what's needed and what isn't, but the way I did it was to tell the truth about Carlos, be non-committal about Williams at first, get the loan (and then lose it), talk to the secretary but don't flirt, talk to her when she shows up at the psrty, talk about breaking in and then back down, and then tail him. You then want to get the cassette tape and you'll get the chance to break up the kidnapping. There's a thing at the end where you might get the punch, for me she did something quite different, though. Hm, I got to a point in the um 4th chapter, I think, where I'd just talked about Nikki's son and their past, then she says it's late and I need to leave. Thing is, the only option is do nothing, but when I click it it says I must make a choice. Buggered :/

My ending didn't go so well ... The main reason for the amateurish writing seems to be that it's translated from Spanish... Maybe they need some English-as-a-first-language editors to go through it, since I notice a few spelling errors in just one pass. Still, pretty fun.
