Who is going to dress up as a Video game Character for Halloween? :

Old 10-03-2007, 07:58 AM
Last year me and a friend went as Mario and Luigi, and it was bad ass. Had a ton of fun last year. This year I want to make a paper costume of Master Chief but I can't even figure out how to print out the parts. I was also thinking about going as Link and even though it sounds cool it would end up looking, eh. Hmm What else is good. Anyone else plan on doing something special for Halloween?

Nah. That's what I did for Otakon. XP

When I have kids to take around, however, you bet your ass I'll dress up. Well, probably.

My initial though being that I'd dress as Mario, but I might consider opting for Bowser or Wario or something if the kids want to go as Mario. ;P

Bah, this just reminds me how I need to get myself into a video game, of some sort.

I already have a song, a movie, and a t-shirt. I still need a video game, a TV show, and an action figure.

Man, being a narcicist isn't as glamorous as they make it look on TV.

Heh, if I do dress up, Mario might not be a bad idea, though I'm not sure I could pull off the moustache. Epitome of manliness, that thing is.

I usually go as some variation of a gorilla, since I bought a gorilla mask 4 years ago and decided to get my money's worth.

Guerrila Gorilla
Zombie Gorilla
Pimprilla

Strangely enough, I have not been Donkey Kong, yet. Maybe this year.

I will need to craft barrels.

I thought that too, but your costume has to be simple. After all, imagine chasing a lightning fast 3 yr old down the street dressed up as bowser or something. Kid will leave you in the dust.

There is a very distinct part of me that wants to dress up as a LEGO person.

...I've been building too many lego sets.

I can't think of a funny idea for what to do this year.
Last year I got a bunch of mini-cerial packets like these -

I emptied them, and damaged each one in a different way. One I burnt, one I cut up lots, one I tied string round and pulled tight.

Then I tied them all round my neck on a big peice of string.

I was a cerial killer.

Any suggestions for somthing -
A) Funny (even in a dumb silly way)
B) Cheap
B) Easy

would be fantastic.

If I had the time, money and inclination, I'd totally do a Spider Splicer costume. While most people probably wouldn't recognize it far beyond a deformed/mutated person, the glowing orange hooks (particularly in the dark) could be very cool on their own.

Not me, I'm going as Buddy Christ from Dogma (see avatar). I did it eight years ago and people still talked about it, so I decided to do it again.

I'd imagine trying to dress up as Sora would be a pain in the ass, but damn, am I looking for an excuse to buy that full-sized, metal keyblade I bumped into this weekend.

The least threatening weapon ever!

I have dark hair, a beard and glasses, and can always get my hands on a lab coat. Looks like Gordon Freeman for me.

Only if you get a crowbar.

Bonus points if you can get a friend to wear all black and act as your 'gravity gun' for the night.

I think the best costume I ever had was right after I got old enough to stop trick-or-treating.

We just glued a crapton of leaves to some long underwear, painted my face appropriate colors, and then I hid in the leaf pile in our front yard, scaring the hell out of people.

The best part was going to the supermarket to pick up more candy, and leaving a trail of leaves throughout the store.

e: I'd like to point out that Wood Man had a leaf shield, so this post is in no way off-topic.

e2: I had this costume, once. It was glorious.

Not precisely a video game costume, but still a very geeky concept, originally inspired by a Magic: The Gathering card in the Unglued set.

About 2 years ago, I was Elvish.

In that I wore an Elvis Presley costume and pointed ears. I did it at work, and I won the office costume contest, by what I hear was a wide margin (although there were 2-3 other impressive costumes there).

The Magic card I'm referring to, which was my original inspiration, was this:

I had to explain the pun to most people there, but it was worth it.

I want to dress up as a video game char, but there are 2 problems:

1) I'm lazy
2) I have no design ability or creativity
