Oh another big one for me. I think that Twilight Princess was merely (perhaps only just) a good game and the fact that it won GOTY on this forum is a symptom of madness. What else came out last year? I'm playing Phantom Hourglass now and I have to say I'm having a *way* better time with it than I did with TP, so maybe you're right. It was probably just that it came out late in the year. Happens with Oscars all the time.

All I was saying is that I don't understand people who expect Wii sales to plummet dramatically come March and April, even given the new date for Smash Bros. and the projected release of WiiWare. Nintendo buyers have always had long periods of time with no AAA games to worry about. Well, since the Cube, anyway. But with VC and a larger influx of good third party software I think that Nintendo hardware will still be selling at a steady pace at that time of the year. That's a blatant mischaracterization. There is a little bit of decent software coming, not an influx. Though I guess it is better than the total crap we've got so far. There is an influx of good third party software, and the only way to prove/disprove it is list warz which is complete BS anyway.

Well, all right then! Why in the name of FUCK did Halo 3 not give us a checkpoint after we took down the two anti air wraiths and moved on into the next section - TWICE?! What the fuck, Bungie? This was on Legendary. Do you have any fucking idea how annoying it is to do that shit AGAIN? L2checkpoint, for the love of god. The system is a little bit too random, but it works well for the most part, but when it doesn't... fuck me, it can get ugly. Also, I have decided I am fucking done with PC gaming. It's dead, at least to me. I bought Orange Box over Steam instead of on the 360, mostly because it was way cheaper, what with the dollar-euro rate being what it is, but it's given me more grief than anything. First of all, TF2 won't fucking work. It basically crashes my internet connection, I realize that sounds propostrous, but both times I managed to connect to a game, my internet died at the class select screen for like one minute before going back on. I have yet to fix this. Then Portal crashed when I wanted to load a savegame from the menu, without even having done so yet. Then, when I restarted it, it suddenly had to verify the files on Steam, but it wouldn't, it stayed stuck at 100%, several times. This was fixed when I rebooted my PC, but it shouldn't have fucking happened in the first place. I swear to god, from now on, when there is a 360 alternative, I am never buying a fucking PC game again.

Is this the place where I argue that graphics are subjective and the next person who says [Game X] has better graphics than [Game Y] should be punched in the head? I mean seriously, you could argue that something pushes out more polygons, or it has three different lighting techniques applied simultaneously as well as normal mapping all sorts of AA and AF, but really it's all about personal opinion and penchant for specific art styles, and I'd appreciate it if no one bothered to mention anything about a game's graphics in relation to another game. This is like arguing whether Van Gogh is better that Monet, or Beethoven is better than Mozart or if Alien is better than Gladiator. The main problem I have with your argument is that not all graphical differences are due to differences in style. Some games really do have better graphics than others. I know you're probably talking about same-generation graphics, but the extreme example would be comparing an old game to a new game. Halo 3 has arguably better graphics than the original Doom. There's no "oh, Halo 3 just has a different style than Doom," no, Halo 3 has better graphics. Most people do not say "Oh man I really like muddy low resolution textures a lot better than these high resolution ones!" Yeah, there's subjectivity here, but the entire thing is not subjective.

I think it's funny how everytime someone releases a study or says something positive about video games everyones like 'Oh my God that's cool' or 'take that JT' but when someone does the same thing saying something negative about games the overwhelming reaction is 'bullshit'.
