Rez is best played in a sensory-deprivation like environment. If you can, wait till your alone with no distractions, then turn off the lights and turn it up. It’s beautiful when it clicks.

You are only truely playing Ikaruga when you have a multi thousand dollar display perched precariously on its side just so you can play it as god intended. I sold two of my three copies of this game when this was announced, and intend to sell RS when its a big closer to that launch. I'll keep my copy of Rez until the T.V. is confirmed to still work, thank you very much .

It first showed up on the test servers last February, but yeah, seeing that leaderboards shot makes me think it's getting the finishing touches now. The real question is: will gameplay lag the 360 like it has every other console ever...... Yeah, I'm kind of pessimistic about lag in 2P online play. However, he mentioned that it would be a much bigger undertaking, as Treasure would like to actually redo elements of the game -- basically, enhance it with high resolution visuals to make it more current. The second this becomes even close to reality I'm getting rid of RS. I bought it for $20.

I really, really wished I had never opened it as now I'd have quite a bit more money, but whatever. Ikaruga is fantastic. There will probably be quite a bit of lag on the XBLA version when online, but who cares. Also, remember that playing the game with an expensive as shit TV on its end is the only way to play. What the hell are they working on now anyways besides this and Bangai O DS??? - Ikaruga XBLA - new 360 shmup (to be resumed after releasing Ikaruga) - Bangai-O Spirits (should be coming out within the next few months) They're also hiring right now for an unspecified 3D action game (http://www.treasure-inc.co.jp/recruit/recruit.html). Dunno if this is the shmup or something different. They've expressed interest in Wii development in the past but so far have not announced anything.

The thing is, I don't really care about XBLA Ikaruga, since it's avaliable in America for systems that people actually own, and indeed I own a copy right now. Radiant Silvergun is a Sega Saturn import; we really need it up there.

Isn't Ikaruga one of the hardest games ever? It's not hard to complete at all. It is just incredibly hard to be good at. I mean, it is probably one of the games I have played most of in the last 5 years, and I would say I am OK at it. Edit: And I play a lot of Shmups.
