I don't actually know which screenshot that is, since photobucket is websense'd here at work, but I think it should illustrate the point.

I may have just linked you all to midget porn though, sorry in advance!

Dont even say World of Starcraft. The tease hurts me.
I'm still a little sad that they announced Starcraft 2 instead of a MMOFPS (think Planetside done by blizzard using the Starcraft IP).

I notice two trinkets are on cool down. I'm assuming he can't sustain it, it's just the mother of all "Oh shit" buttons.

Threat is really a non-issue, I don't know if my melee tab is up in that window, but I'm at about 50% crit and way over 2k attack power while buffed to the gills in that set of gear. I'm also at more like 85-90% overall passive avoidance, that screenshot was from a while ago with both trinkets.

Currently I actually get over 100% avoidance with just a single trinket up, it's pretty sick.

You have your stats window and defense window up.

Actually it's his defense and spell window which is actually even more useless.

And Ryo what's your characters name? Is he in his bear gear?

It's obtainable on the bosses that have the DW penalty (Bear boss), but the problem is you have 0 rage generation, and unless the fight is something you can have everyone afk and auto-shot/wand/attack through, you're going to die to enrage, or some other mechanic.

Not 0 since you generate rage on hits, but way less.

edit: You can't use maul though since it will impact that rage gen.

Pfftt...I was once told that I tank every boss like they were a personal insult. That I treat them as if they were a drunken oaf for whom it was my personal destiny to give them the thrashing they never got as a child. And when I tank, I ask myself "What would Ike do?" and the answer I always get back is "Hit the bitch". So it's safe to say I tank with a full rage bar.

I think people just get scared away and assume they shouldn't bother applying. We can pretty reliably get some t5 guild's Vashj or Kael on a Sunday night, or get them to let our dudes sneak in to talk to the Karathress NPC, but we don't even get t5-geared shaman apps. Now we've got this one paladin who bought a shaman from a friend who suddenly wants to reroll, but it pisses me off cos he's just doing it because he wants a guaranteed raid spot and he's paranoid that we have too many paladins. He's like "Paladin healing isn't dynamic enough!" ...as if spamming Chain Heal is going to be any better. Yes I really want to let him shelve a four-piece t6 paladin for that.
And unfortunately we can't get a Vashj or Kael like that. One of the douchebag guilds on the server basically stole a bunch of raid ID's from some lower rank guilds and were actively poaching members at the same time. I'm kinda surprised they didn't do something else for the shithead hat-trick but hey. And now lower ranked guilds are really, really paranoid about things like that.
Wait, who?

Ah, nuts. We're short a healer. Healzyou from <random guild> say's he'll go.

OK, we done half the raid. We'll come back two day's from now...

Meanwhile, the next day, Healzyou and <random guild> get together and finish off the instance, if healzyou is the raid leader of that raid, his guild will become saved to your instance.

That's how a raid ID gets "stolen".

Edit: Heh, also, if Healzyou were in your guild, and then gquits, and joins <random guild>, you don't even need to have a non-guildie to be in danger.

Some lower ranked guild A clears some of the earlier bosses and the respective trash. Higher ranked guild B "borrows" their raid ID by getting into a raid with a member of guild A who is saved to that raid ID.

Guild B member enter the instance and are "saved" to that instance.

Build B member then drops raid, invites their guild with the Raid ID that has the lesser bosses killed, then continues to clear the bosses that drop phat loots, with the lesser sought after bosses and trash dead, thereby stealing the Raid ID from Guild A.

edit: I type slow...

You used to be able to cascade instances like that I believe but now it's just used to kill the later bosses without killing the boring ones.

edit: Meaning do all of SSC, then steal a raid ID and do it again. And again. And again. That may have been before IDs so the lockouts worked poorly.

Hmm, coulda been a market for raid IDs. Now that they're allowing you to go straight to Kael and V, not so much. but hey. Our guild, hypothetically, is 3/4 TK. Don't have time to get any more K attempts in this week.. Hey, <BT guild>, wanna buy a raid ID?

There is a market for them if someone needs keying. When ever we've tried to do it we've offered HoD's and epic gems. Unfortunately one bad apple sours the bunch.

5/6 3/4 guilds can sell their IDs to lazy t6 guilds, or what we end up doing is say "Hello there t5 raid leader, we would like your raid ID that you weren't using anyway, because it's the end of the raid week. In exchange for this you and one or two people can come along and watch how we do things so that you can actually finish this instance yourselves soon."

They tend to go for it. And usually they get all the loot too.

Or some asshole steals your guild's raid ID, enters your instance & parks his character in it, preventing your guild's 25 man raid from entering the instance.

I knew a guild whose members did that to a few SSC guilds. That guild's sole purpose was to troll the realm forums.

Which, honestly, is something that both guilds I've been in have done now and then, particularly when attunements were involved.

Worked out like gentlemen, it's like this:

TH (my guild) is keying people to MH/BT, and doesn't want to do all of SSC. Guild X is doing everything but Kael or Vashj or something, and typically does not raid on a day we do (say, Mondays). So, instead of that instance 'going to waste' as it were, a deal is worked out. Sometimes it's gold or raid crafting materials, and in others it's just bringing the raid leader (or someone else) in for the kill in order to see the strategy executed, which helps them along with progression on the fight (personal experience rather than bosskillers strats and youtube).

Everybody wins. The contributing guild gets resources or intel, we get people attuned and the raid crew gets an 'easy' night instead of having to clear the full instance. People who steal ID's or are dicks about it are what have complicated this mess so badly, but it can be worked out in a civilized manner as well.
