Hmm, coulda been a market for raid IDs. Now that they're allowing you to go straight to Kael and V, not so much. but hey. Our guild, hypothetically, is 3/4 TK. Don't have time to get any more K attempts in this week.. Hey, <BT guild>, wanna buy a raid ID?

Which, honestly, is something that both guilds I've been in have done now and then, particularly when attunements were involved.
Worked out like gentlemen, it's like this:
TH (my guild) is keying people to MH/BT, and doesn't want to do all of SSC. Guild X is doing everything but Kael or Vashj or something, and typically does not raid on a day we do (say, Mondays). So, instead of that instance 'going to waste' as it were, a deal is worked out. Sometimes it's gold or raid crafting materials, and in others it's just bringing the raid leader (or someone else) in for the kill in order to see the strategy executed, which helps them along with progression on the fight (personal experience rather than bosskillers strats and youtube).
Everybody wins. The contributing guild gets resources or intel, we get people attuned and the raid crew gets an 'easy' night instead of having to clear the full instance. People who steal ID's or are dicks about it are what have complicated this mess so badly, but it can be worked out in a civilized manner as well. |
