Yeah, it was still very enjoyable to watch. At this point I think of the movie more as a fiction with roots in reality, than a proper documentary though. It inspired me to pick up Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts again and finally try to beat that sucker.

In reality it's one of those really weird american things that nowhere else does because it's pretty crazy.
