thanks dru! I think I'm gonna call it done; he didn't do the middles, but the only color we could really come up with for them was yellow and I'm none too crazy about yellow

and my skin is pale enough that they look white anyway
good choice, yellow would probably look bad
like you had jaundice or something

goatmon I don't know what you're trying to say here

druhim yes that's what I thought as well, but I mean IGOR MORTIS did a really good job with the rest of it so I was inclined to trust his opinion -- he had to stop, however, because he was recovering from an arm injury and couldn't go much more than an hour and a half with me

so I have a tentative appointment for next wednesday, but I think I'm just gonna leave it as is

damn, Igor did that?

did you design it? because it's a relief to see a tattoo that large that isn't either too thick or just a plain shitty design.

I did, to some extent, but mine was a shitty sketch -- he drew it up freehand and it was perfect, exactly what I wanted

Ok
what I have in mind would probably run $3-5k then as a rough estimate

but I'm not in a rush

edit: oh, $900 for the work
and that tat does have a lot of detail
maybe it'd be more like $2-4k

$3-5k? jesus christ are you serious

was it the octopus one you described? how big are you thinking of making it? seriously, mine took 2.5 hours for the outline, 3.5 for the branch, and 1.5 for the flowers -- and it's huge

yeah, I'm realizing your tattoo is bigger than I thought it was but what I have in mind would probably also involve more colors and more detail
basically I want to get a big octopus on my right thigh with some of the tentacles going below the knee at least
and I'm strictly guessing at the cost based on your cost so we'll see
I'd be surprised if what I have in mind ended up being less than $2k from what I know though, unless I had someone inexperienced do it and fuck that

I seriously doubt you're looking at more than $1500 before tip, dogg -- that's still 10 hours of work at a really expensive parlor, like slave to the needle or something similar

often they'll cut you a deal if you sit for long sessions so it's probably closer to 12 hours

and you are not gonna want much more than that, coloring's a nightmare

I cannot imagine myself ever getting a tattoo from a parlor/artist that I haven't heard numerous reports to the positive of

there must be a site like ratemyprofessor.com for tattoo artists, it's just way too important to fuck around with

of the 7 or 8 hours I sat for it, I'd say only about 2 hours were totally unbearably awful

the outline was nothin', and the flowers hurt but I developed a breathing technique that helped

the branch was okay for half of it, then the rest just fucking murdered me -- stale was giggling at me the whole time but I was so miserable

Fuck, now I want to get a nice tattoo on my arm, and really connect it with the other piece and make it look nice. Not trendy, not cliche, but nice.

I want a nice artistic tattoo.
