 | How does I maked bombs?
Yes, it's finally that time. I've made a guide on how to make happy fun explosion time devices. Of course, because I'm a dick like that, this is just the basics, I'm not crazy enough to put the power of the protobomb in the hands of the unworthy. If you want to see some truely awesome explosions, find someone else, or send some money and/or hookers my way.
Anyway. Most aspiring boommakers start their dirty deeds in the Toxins lab.

It's a cool little place, with with enough supplies to make something like 10 bombs. There's a fair few combinations you can make in terms of exploding things.

A1: Plasma tank. The basis of all things explody, this is the only form of tank that you can attach igniter assemblies to.
B1: Igniter. Combined with a trigger device, this can be used to start fires or cause explosions.
C1: Infrared beam emitter. Freaking laser beams. visibility optional. Beeps when beam is crossed.
D1: Timer. You can set a timer for up to 10 minutes.
E1: Remote Signaling Device (RSD). Push buttan, send signal. All other such devices set to the same frequency/code receive signal.
F1: Proximity sensor. When active, beeps whenever a mob moves into an adjacent tile.
A2: Prox/RSD assembly. Sends signal through RSD when triggered.
B2: Timer/RSD assembly. Sends signal through RSD when time runs out.
C2: Infrared beam/RSD assembly. Sends signal through RSD when beam is crossed.
D2: Timer/Igniter assembly. Igniter triggered when time runs out.
E2: RSD/Igniter assembly. Igniter triggered when signal is received.
F2: Prox/Igniter assembly. Igniter triggered when sensor tripped.
D3: Timebomb. Goes off when time runs out.
E3: Remote bomb. Goes off when signal is received.
F3: Prox bomb. Goes off when sensor tripped.
KNOW YOUR BOMBS! An armed proximity bomb CANNOT be safely approached to disarm it. (This may actually be untrue, but I haven't tested any possible ways to safely reach and disarm an armed prox bomb.)
To construct bombs, you need a screwdriver. If you want the bomb to explode rather than cause a fire, you'll also want a welder.
After gathering your components, use a screwdriver on any igniters and RSDs you plan on using in the assembly. After that, you bash them together so they form the assembly, then screwdriver the assembly to secure it. If it's an igniter assembly, you can now attach it to your plasma tank. At this point, if you want a boom rather than fire, you smack it with your welder to make the pressure hole. If you want to break apart assemblies, hit it with a wrench (you have to reseal pressure holes with another welder blow before you can separate a plasma tank from it's assembly.)
Anyway, time for boring dialog pictures. If you want your bombs to be more than useless, you need to heat your plasma. This is done with the Heater, that orange thing with all the pretty lights on it in the corner.

To get your plasma into the heater, attach a plasma tank to it, then siphon off the contents. After that, you set the heater to the temperature you want, and set it to heat.
DO NOT HEAT PLASMA ABOVE 450 DEGREES UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR POSSIBLE VERY BAD THINGS HAPPENING TO YOUR MAN AT THE HANDS OF THE REST OF THE STATION. PLASMA IS SERIOUS BUSINESS.
Next dialog window is for the prox sensor.

As noted, never ever use the indicated button to arm your prox sensor unless you get off on holding a device that will go off the moment you walk off or try to carry it somewhere. Use the time on option, which gives you a 30-second window of safety. If you have a proximity bomb completed, there is also the "Arm" verb, which sets a 15-second timer until the device is armed. This verb can be used while in an adjacent tile to the bomb.
Remote Signaling device.

Speaker is whether or not it beeps when it receives a signal, I don't think this disables the device from triggering an attached device. Frequency/code is self-explanatory, match them between RSDs you want to interact.
Timer.

Set countdown, turn on timer.
Infrared beam emitter.

You've got on and off, and visible and invisible. You rotate the device with it's rightclick menu to change which way the beam goes.
Now some action shots of active bombs.

An active timebomb blinks red and white. During the last 5 or so seconds until time is out, it switches to rapidly alternating red and white.

An arming prox bomb blinks blue and white.

When blinky turns red, he is no longer your friend.
