They were described as violent anarchists, not protestors.
And yet they were only charged with a fire code violation and neighbors described them as a "hippie house".
But they had bombs! Unassembled bombs consisting of common items found in most every garage!

Also, strangely, feces, but I don't think any conservative would argue against a man's god-given right to store his own feces.

So, people still think McCain thoroughly vetted Palin, as opposed to shitting himself Thursday night and picking the only viable option he had to try and change the nature of the race?

McCain campaign didn't get around to checking any old news stories from her home town newspaper.

In any other country, this wouldn't even be a contest.

Except maybe Ukraine, but they kinda had their reasons.

What I will never be able to stomach in American politics is the arbitrary veneration of real estate and apparent religious belief over morals, common sense and even dignity.

Oh and the blinkered voters and corruption/focus on degradation.

And the hypocrisy.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was glad to see this. It's basically a list of all of Obama's positions on issues I actually care about. I'll be very interested to see how McCain responds to these questions.

I could make generic derogatory comments about English or UK politics too but it would be just as fucking stupid as what you said. Every country has problems.

Someone does. From that article...

quote:
Even McCain's own aides seemed unprepared by the choice. After Palin's name was announced, spokeswoman Nancy Pfotenhauer was asked about the governor's relationship with the Senator.

"You're running flat into the wall of my ignorance here," she said. "I truly have no indication whatsoever the extent of a relationship that exists with the Governor of Alaska."

In light of these reports, the McCain camp has sought to dispel the notion that Palin was un-vetted or chosen out of purely political motives. Even though the presumptive Republican nominee met his now-running mate only once before choosing her, aides have begun arguing, the two are "kindred spirits" and have shared ideological bearings. In a Washington Post piece Sunday, Rick Davis, McCain's campaign manager, said the Palin chose was not a last minute call. The process, he added, was rigorous and involved sifting through financial and other personal data, as well as an FBI background check.

"Nobody was vetted less or more than anyone in the final stages, and John had access to all that information and made the decision," Davis said. "It's really not much more complicated than that."
Either:
1) No one was vetted or
2) Davis is lying through his teeth.

I'm betting 2, because we already know this was a last minute call.

Haven't you seen all the informed commentary we've been linking to that clearly shows McCain picked her because she shits conservative rainbows and has kept Russia off of our coast with her steely glare.

Nice. I kind of wish there was an evolution specific question though I suppose that might not hurt McCain as much as I'd like.

She has also marshaled Alaskan national guard troops against the great arctic menace:

Colbert is going to be GUSHING over her all week. I'd almost bet we don't see an episode between now and the election where he doesn't love her for recognizing the threat bears pose to America.

But you can only do one pop culture reference, and bear cavalry is the better choice, since Palin is supposed to shore up McCain's bear weakness, what with his being opposed to bear research. Know your enemy and so on.

But he's against DNA research on bears. How can we make good bioweapons without such valuable data?

edit: wait, never mind

Oh I can do that too and still be generally accurate.

UK politics is stuffed full of class divide, north-south rivalry and apathetic voters (with subsequent low turnout), and to some extent the segregation of the nationalities. It has no direction and people generally don't care. As such, nothing much ever really happens and red tape clutters many processes.

I'm not being jingoistic. Criticising the US is the vogue and easy to do, but I do actually have reasons behind what I say.

And the truth is that the most of the rest of the world is pretty astonished that McCain is even in with a shot. Especially after things like and which put the boot in to his 'experience and ability' angle. I personally think McCain is a well-meaning person, but I think he pales in comparison to Obama. Kerry/Bush was a bit of a global shock as well (yes, not scientific or conclusive, but I assure you it reflects the attitude of most europeans I know).

As for other things, well...

Relgious belief, "UnAmericanism", blinkered voters, and .

There's an awful lot more I would say but this is one post on a forum on the internet. It's not going to change anything. I'll mainly be reading from now on.

edit: mainly be reading...
