Blast Chamber seconded. Especially being able to play online. That would be so awesome.

Arguably one of the first four-player playstation titles, the 'plot' of the game is "having a bomb strapped to your chest is fun". link
And it was. Oh, so it was.

Bringing back MediEvil would be cool. That was a fun game.

A new Project: Overkilll would be sweet, too. Something very satisfying about wading through corridors filled to the brim with corpses and gore.

I would just like to thank you for helping me remember the name of "that submarine game".

The most awesome version of Road Rash ever to be released, bar none. I've been praying for a remake for a while now, but it seems that RR is one that will remain lost to Davey Jones' locker for the duration. Too bad, really. That game was so phenomenal back in the day. It basically introduced me to the PS1, and to this day it holds a special place in my heart.

Road Rash 3D was the only game I can say I ever beat out of pure spite.

Also, I think Monster Rancher 2 hold the title of "game I've logged the most hours on". Each week is a single turn, and I've just recently logged my 218th year.

Also, gotta give props to Ape Escape, Brave Fencer Musashi, and Vanguard Bandits.

Ape Escape was pretty sick, but Road Rash 3D was a major disappointment for me. I played it thinking it was going to be somewhat faithful to RR, but I was sorely mistaken.

Well...not to start an argument. But you can say Xenogears had a sequel in Xenosaga...the gears(or whatever they were called in Saga) didn't have the same feel though.

As for Chrono Cross...I agree.

I SO loved playing this.

Same for the Jet Motos, Road Rashes (before 3D *shudders*), Vigilante 8s, and PaRappa The Rappas of the world.

Oh, and one I didn't see in here yet:

You know...I liked Bloody Roar so much. I've always been a werewolf fan and the whole beast-change mechanic really made me like the game. I really wish someone would try that mechanic again, just in a better fighter.

I just would they would have worked on the fight mechanics and improved them over the series. And don't get me started on the horribly broken guard mechanics they added in the 3 and 4 ones. Second one is still my favorite.

i used to love vigilante 8 aswell! i remember countless hours lost to that and twisted metal back in the day!
isn't vigilante 8 being released on live arcade sometime soon? i'm sure it is.

destruction derby 2 was sooo much better than the first, its not really a forgotten game though i suppose.

So did I, but my beef wasn't with the changes so much as the bad graphics and horrible hit detection.

Aye, 3D graphics on PS1 didn't even look good when they were new, heh.

It had probably one of the worst fighting engines I've ever played. Though I'll be damned if I say I didn't play the shit out of it, just for the fact it was a Star Wars fighting game.

I mean, who doesn't want to see Mara Jade battle it out with a Gamorrean warrior or Tusken Raider?

The best kart racer ever made is Chocobo Racing. It is better than Mario Kart.

The weapon system is so cool. Imagine if, in Mario Kart, you could save that crappy green shell and pick up a second green shell to upgrade it to red. That's essentially what it was. Ice left a little slick spot on the ground, Ice 2 left several slick spots, and ice 3 made every racer slide around and spin out. You could alternatively save up three different weapons and use them all whenever you wanted. Additionally, every weapon was dragged behind the kart and you could get up behind your opponent to steal his stuff. And every racer had their own unique ability like a speed boost or shield.

The maps were well-designed too. My favorite mechanics of any racer.
I always had to cringe at how much Bahamut handled like a Cadillac, but his Megaflare was too good to pass up.

I consider besting Tobal no. 1's quest mode one of my better achievements. It's really too bad we never got the 2nd released in NA or EU.

I watched a pal play and beat Vanguard Bandits, probably made it look more fun than it was. I got 'em Legaia as a gift and watched them tear into that too. Good times, kinda miss that.

I'm still hoping the Bikes update on Burnout Paradise will eventually have racing added, with chains, clubs, kicking, punching, and cattle-prodding...

Bushido Blade is still my favorite fighting game. Practice mode VS, black & white, canal stage, rain.

I don't think it can be said that Xenogears and Chrono Cross totally disappeared, unless you're talking about from store shelves--but then that would apply to every PS1 game.

Mega Man Legends, and Legends 2 were both awesome and I really hope Inafune gets to make Legends 3 with the MT Framework engine, something it was designed for by its lead programmer. While Legends 2 did refine the gameplay and equipment, the multi-island story was likely not as gripping as the 1st game's cohesive Cattlox Island. I was, however, deeply interested in the continuing Raverbot/Master/Lost civilization plot thread. The Misadventures of Tron Bonne also deserved mention for being more rare than either of the above and a silly, fun game.

King's Field II is my guilty pleasure game (I like the gameplay and the weapon and armor designs). I'm still kicking myself for selling my copies of Brave Fencer Musashi and Treasures of the Deep. I need to play through Medieval this Halloween season (Sir Dan Fortesque FTW).

I just remembered another one from the days when PSX games didn't come in jewel cases yet, they still had those bulky soft plastic ones. (footage is from saturn, but it's the same game on PSX)

The game also had the best story cutscenes EVER. They basically just ripped off MST3k.

"I wish I could get my hand off my chin... I'm never going to that glue planet again."
Perhaps one of my favorite games. I remembered the game itself, but could never recall the name.
